As far as Nigeria is concerned, God understands. You only give out willingly when you have excesses and not when you re short-changed. Our God is a merciful God, He understands. Personally, i will state three points.

1. Tithe was an old testament law. Except you don't mind me practising other old testament laws. It will interest you to know that there was never a place in the new testament where tithe was made compulsory. There is no of people paying tithe in the new testament except the pharisees.

2. Levites who were the recipients of the tithe were full time servants of God. I mean, they have no other work but to minister unto God. And that was in the old testament. Come to the new testament, even apostle Paul himself worked to himself and his ministry and wasn't waiting for tithe. The church thrived on donations towards the advancement of the work of God. Not the tithe of the poor brethren. And nowadays sef, most pastors are part time pastors. So, why the mandatory tithe again?

3. Finally, imagine someone with a family of four with an income of just 70k and still paying tithe to a man who has a university and other businesses. I mean, the pastors should fear God. Collecting tithe from widows and the poor with nothing but a promise o wealth and the gullible falling for that? No.... Am wiser.

Basically, it boils down to personal decisions though but for me, ll gladly give donations to church projects, pay good offerings afterall, even our Lord approved of offering by overseeing one of it. But tithe, ll rather use it to help the poor and needy around me than take it to church.

Jesus came for the salvation of the world, he is interested in ur soul after death. He is interested in if you lived justly and loved thy neighbour as thy self. In his abundance of riches is he preparing an abode for the worthy. My brother jesus has no business with ur 10 percent. I will pay no tithe and if I am a just man, will go to heaven. Sir, I know you may simply be mocking, but I'll answer your question.

God handed the earth to an agency he created: Man. Man was in charge of maintenance and management. Until the enemy came in. After that it was things fall apart. Man sought to dominate not just his environment but himself. And suffering was introduced into the world. But the way out has been established.

God has been up to executing his master plan ever since. Right now that involves agents and ambassadors of his plan scattered over the world and enlightening man on his universal way out and his provision of a perfect world in the near future.

i faithfuly tithed for eight straight years and was broke for eight straight years,until i began to add the 10% + my offerings to my investments.Today,am financially far better than when i was paying tithe and offerings.
