diva90:The matter is seriously getting me upset. For some months now, first bank have never remitted a kobo into my as interest, all they know is to deduct, followed by their silent counterpart bank called Zenith, no interest, only to quickly deduct and send that their silly message to my phone. Honestly, I wish Jonathan is still our president, sentiment apart, the guy has human feelings and listens to the yearnings of the people he is governing. Jonathan is a true democrat aside from this stealing of a thing and him being too calm, he is simply the best president we have had so far in this country. Bubu just came to punish Nigerians with his I don't care attitude and self imposed demi god status. abeg, am tired of buharis govt, he is too mean for my liking, I can't wait for 2019 to come. Am honestly and sincerely expressing how am feeling right now without political or ethnic affiliations, cos I know some political fighter here will either term me iPod or zombies, I really don't bother about what u people perceived from my view but my own is that God should please touch the hearts of our leaders to be empathetic towards the people they are leading cos this suffering is getting out of hand. Imagine buying a 10 litres of fuel with an adjusted fuel pump at the filling station at the rate of 160 per litre * 10, and just for me to drop the children in school and back, the fuel is gone. Nothing in my tank again and here they are deducting 100 naira for maintaining nothing. huh! may God have mercy on us as a nation and remove every wicked leader from power, it doesn't matter lord how you will do it, but just rescue us from their claws. Many of you are showing like twats. How many of you pay taxes? In developed countries that we run to, the tax regime is strong. That is why UK and USA and the rest have developed. In this regime, we have peaked 4000mw.. Something that never happened during the Gej Era. The government is seeking innovative ways to finance the economy and we are here lamenting. What part have you played to expose corruption? Many of you shouting are simply Wailers.. Hungry Wailers

This desperation of the government to raise revenue by all means in the face of the oil crises is taking its toll on the popularity of the regime. But then, for those saying this doesn't happen in other countries, 'travel and see' is the best advice. Nigerians dont pay tax, but then again, taxing can't just be slammed instantly on everyone (including even students). 1 Like |

Is Emefiele working for Nigerians or for bank shareholders? Is he governor of the CBN or chairman of the board of some bank? Sanusi Lamido Sanusi rightly removed bank charges on ATM withdrawals but the first thing he did was to reintroduce it. Look at it this way, when you put money in your savings , which normally should yield interest, you discover that instead your money keeps reducing due to one deduction or other. The bank uses your money to give loans at upwards of 20% interest yet you are still made to pay in order to withdraw your money (ie #65). Now they want to charge you for letting them use your money to make usurious profits. If this is indeed true I call on all Nigerians to vehemently protest this thievery. As for me, as soon as this becomes the official policy, I will walk into every bank with which I have an and demand that they either cancel my ATM (without any possibility of renewal) or close my . As a necessary evil I will continue to use my various bank's e-channels until it gets out of hand, at which time I will revert to using a saving box and close every one of my s. This policy, if true, is wicked, draconian and devilish. Albeit, I earnestly pray that this is just April fool come too soon. 1 Like |

Freshboi:tHese countries where they pay taxes like the US have the basic amenities like power, gas, good roads, good and portable water, medical care even if its expensive, very good schools......please what has the govt of Nigeria done for its citizen since independence..?? When JFK said ask not what your country can do for yoÙ, but what yoÚ ©an do for ur country, he said it because america has provided the basics and they need to sustain these basic amenities that's why taxes are paid. So tell me what Nigeria has done for me!! 2 Likes |

This not good. The banking sector needs to reduce their operating costs so that can stop squeezing the people. Those blaming Buhari should know that any money the bank charges is revenue for the banks, government gets all its revenue exports, customs etc. If CBN is expected to remit excess revenue to govt, then Buhari should take more interest in whether these charges are fair. Clearly these charges are punishing the poor masses far more than the rich. Instead of using flat rate charges percentage should be used for transactions, which could something like 0.1% which means only N10 charge for N10,000 transaction. But rich person making transaction of a N1m pays N1,000 which is fairer all round. Also the debit card maintenance charge could also be a percentage of the balance combined with a minimal base charge that everyone could afford. Buhari's should probe the banking sector ASAP, it stinks of corruption. 1 Like 1 Share |
