lol...he may not thinking about that. But I know their law grants permanent residence to a father or mother of any child born in Brazil. And in as little as 2years, citizenship is granted. That could be his aim. Brazil is the only country if I'm not mistaken that does that. They don't care about your status in the country. And brazilian port enters all western nation visa free except US and Canada

yes you are right, a child born in Brasil get automatic citizenship (and permanent visa for his/her foreigner parents) whether on a tourist visa or illegal in the country. the only real problem would be TIME, because bureaucracy here is very very slow!

A) you 1st need to decide what city in Brasil you intend to go to

B) birth price will depend on which hospital you choose... the better the hospital/service, the higher the price.... it ranges from €1.5K to €5K. you could even have the baby on a pubic hospital but i certainly wouldnt recommand it as some have been turned down in the past because they were not Brazilian resident

C) for the birth certificate, if you have all the necessary documentation: the birth documentation from the hospital, port of parents, a F, a proof of address in Brasil and 2 witnesses then you just need to head to a "cartorio" and have the birth certificate issued to you. it will take 1 hr at best, so long as it is not busy at the time.

D) for the child's port, i suggest you expect no less than 2 months as bureaucracy in Brasil is a drag!

Bros, sharing it here in a problem but the problem is how he will succeed.

Portuguese is the spoken language there and if you don't know anyone there you won't not find it easy at all.

I recommend that people look to that destination for child bearing for so many reasons.

Giving birth using the public hospital is the best as you would not spend any kobo.

With the birth certificate, documents likes F for the child is instant. And National Id, called RG takes a week as well as the port but they are obtained in different departments.

The parents Documents takes less than two months but definitely you need a help of a professional to help you out to avoid delays.

..and your next step now is to recommend that 'professional' who will help right?

Did you see how MRBrownJ answered that question without dropping his details for 'professional' help?

1) get in Brasil
2) decide what type of company you want to open
3) find an ant that will work with you and your future company (beware many are plain clueless when it comes to international export)
4) have all the right paperwork so that your ant will set up and open the company
5) wait for the CNPJ so that the company can legally do business in Brasil
6) find the right suppliers
7) find the right exporting route/cargo

So please how can the visa acquisition process be explained in detail @MrBrownJ.

Brazil embassy nigeria doesn't have a website for one to gather proper information and DIY.

you would have to speak Portuguese and go to the gov sites for that.... but even the information you will find there is not accurate. as much as there is a law about the issue, it will all depend on the immigration officer or attendant at the cartorio, because everyone have their own definition of the law.

nah no need to pay any agent etc, you can/should do all by yourself since you need to physically be there anyway. here is english speaking blog from a lady who explains all the procedure from beginning to finish (part 1 to cool.

Am conversant with the site, I had clicked on it before I found out its Kevin Porter's site. He's a man, an american who relocated to Brazil with his whole family and his wife gave birth there. I have lots of email communication with him personally and might use his help but that is when I enter Brazil. What am looking for is a Nigerian who have gotten the Brazil visa from Nigeria and has gone to brazil so the person can give me details on visa application and point of entry stories like they do in the U.S thread.

a Brazilian port grants visa free access to most European countries and US , so i would understand why many wish their kids (and subsequently them) to have such port

No, Fake Visas are soo rampant and the agents are quoting 450k- 600k per person for the visa. The main thing is how sure are my that it will be the REAL thing!! You will need to go to their embassy personally to make enquiries and then apply, that's when you can be SURE...
For now, am checking out other options.
