Greetings my Beloved Ndi Igbo
Let me start this by saying we all know the Nigerian state is designed to be against Us as a people, from government policy, to infrastructure, to security agencies , recently even educational bodies.
Luckily for us the people piloting and driving this anti Igbo sentiments are not so smart and are limited to what they can actually do because of the strength of Igbo diaspora lobbying block
Let me get down to business months ago Soludo knowing Igbos controlled majority of the pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria decided to build a pharmaceutical village... Where our sons and daughters would bring their pharmaceutical factories , to that effect he called a meeting with all the Igbo pharmaceutical giants and they told him reason they don't manufacture primarily in the east is because All pharmaceutical products must be important through either Lagos airport or Apapa port so he dropped the idea
That got me thinking really how many sector are limited by Nigerian government policies.. I started to research.. Garment industry, cosmetics, metal works/ fabrication, Pharmaceuticals, agricultural industries, and a few others
I started to look for solutions to make this sectors thrive even under the Nigerian useless policies... Then came the idea of Free Trade Zone... This is exactly what China used to thrive even under socialist government
All major Chinese cities u know today have massive Free trade zone
So what exactly is a Free trade zone
It's a designated geographic area within a country where goods and services can be imported, manufactured, or re-exported without being subject to customs duties or other trade restrictions. It's essentially a special economic zone that offers businesses within it certain advantages in trade and investment. ... Which means in this zones Nigerian economic policies won't work.. 100% free trade
If Soludo had simply converted his pharmaceutical village to a pharmaceutical free trade zone... Those companies would have relocated, imported from every sea port and airport just tag the delivery point to the free trade zome
The reason Aba can't compete with Bangladesh n Pakistan in the garment sector is government policies, the import duty on fabrics makes everything they produce above international average price... So makes it difficult to sale
If Abia can create a garment factory free trade zones, the people their can import fabrics without any single import duty, from any port they choose and can then compete favorably on the global scale
Again we need to do more, Nigerian political elites are not smart ever can always find away around their policies it won't be that hard if we try hard enough
Sorry for the grammatical blunders, English writing has never been my strong point

Why must you import fabrics?
Professional importers.
The people you are importing it from, do they have two heads?
Why don’t you make the fabrics so they can import from you?
All these import duties are there for a reason - to reduce capital flight and encourage local innovation and industry.

Tinubu conceived and birthed Free Trade Zone In Lagos today the place is filled with industries with Dangote Fertilizer and Dangote. Refinery as Nigeria industry yet you and your people abuse same man but Peter Obi you praised as the best governor didn't to establish one.
Now you claim it is marginalisation rather than it your leaders have been sleeping

I have always asked lgb0s to list how "the Nigerian state is designed to be against Us as a people, from government policy, to infrastructure, to security agencies , recently even educational bodies", I have never heard or seen any empirical data from a good source other than their beer parlor talks from them, a group of entitled people who has never built a successful society in their entire existence until the white men came to create Nigeria, that was what gave them relevance.
Okrika is a booming business in Nigeria today because of lgb0s, the importation of okrika kiIIed the Nigerian garment sector from different parts of the country, that's a clear case of lgb0s being against others but we all pretend we are not aware.
99% of fabrics produced in Aba are adulterations of existing brands, the Fendi, Balenciaga, Bonetta Vendetta, Adidas, Nike etc etc, every fake brand u see in Nigeria today comes from Aba, they are banking on the success of those brands by adulterating them yet same people are talking about growth.
The musician Zlatan started a clothing line, before he could kick off, adulterations appeared in Aba, coming from people claiming to be so smart.
Aba is notorious for producing everything fake, from drugs to shoes to clothes to auto parts etc, these are the people looking for growth.
You lots should learn to create and grow your own brands and products before looking for growth, these bogus talks from year to year won't just sky rocket you into growth.

A free trade zone requires federal government approval.
A State can create something like an enterprise zone or something like that, but it will not have many of the tax advantages that companies located in a proper free trade zone get.

If you sincere to yourself you won't
be asking this question. Let me give you one example. Buhari started standard rail project from Lagos to north and down to Niger republic leaving out the region that need it the most.
This is just one example https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2022/09/65-of-containers-from-abroad-end-up-in-southeast-niwa/amp/
Also Nigeria national gas pipeline was designed to take gas out southeast to every other region but excluded SE states
Should I also remaind you of recent JAMB glitch

It's called comparative advantage in economics
To produce fabrics as cheap as global average woman need 100s of billions of dollars of investment and years neither of which we have

Sometimes keep quiet if you dont know about a sector
Nigerian government policies on fabrics makes it easier to import finished goods ( garments) than raw materials fabrics
Because u want to protect an unviable northern fabrics factories
Make fabrics imports duty free and watch okrika go away

Free trade zones are a scam western multinationals sold dumber, poorer countries. They want to make their money without taxes so that nobody benefits from their presence except the multinational. Then, the leader (usually corrupt) will tell the people they should be grateful the company is there. So you have a free trade zone where a multinational makes 1billion USD a year. No tax, but they will say '700 jobs were created' '2000 jobs were created'. The more jobs the more they underpay, the less jobs the more they higher their own foreign people.

Have you done any form of production in this country?
Do you know that Nigeria is one of the most production-toxic country?
A colleague started a small medical reagent factory in this country. It survived for only 4 years. In fact, he started paying levies and taxes the day he put up a signboard.
He even tried to keep it running up to 4 years, many manufacturers pack up within months or 2 years.
When you add the cost of NAFDAC (with all their opaque bureaucies), diesel power, electricity, salaries, federal taxes, state taxes, local government levies, sign board, waste management, licenses, the unit cost of your product will be so high you will not be able to compete with the imported alternatives.
It becomes commonsensical to shut down and the importers.
Most of you are just arm-chair critics who have never lifted a finger to walk the talk of production.
Painful truth- Nigeria will continue to be import-dependebt for the next 60 years at least.
Profit from the system and keep your money in dollars if you know what is good for you. ....
I advised people to keep their money in dollars in 2015 when dollar was N400, we all saw how that panned out. Today the dollar is N1600.
Am I not 4 times richer than I was in 2015? I knew Buhari had nothing to offer, just like your present president, and I will profit from it. The megalomaniacs (Buhari and Tinubu) simply want to be presidents, just to answer 'Mr president'. No fresh ideas reside in their thoughts.
You vote empty politicians, I study the system and become richer. Head or tails, I win.
