Top officials of the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) are embarking on an enforcement exercise to seal up over 4,700 properties owing to non-payment of ground rent.

On March 18th, 2025, the FCT istration had lamented that over N6 billion had been lost as revenue due to non-compliance by some property owners to pay their ground rents for over ten years.

1. Access Bank, Wuse, Abuja

The property being occupied by Access Bank, Wuse Market, Abuja is owing 34 years Ground Rent.

It has been sealed by the FCTA.

2. Total Filling Station, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja

The elites are the problem of Nigeria. How can you owe ground rents for 34 years. They wouldn't try that if they have properties in UK. Before I can call any governor "good" or working... They must build good decent and affordable houses for the people to rival the private sector and drive down the cost of rent in their state...

Abeg what is so special about government building houses of like 10 story building in blocks and flat..then rent out at low rat of say 4bedroom for 400k..

I mean built multiple houses plenty of it...road is not the only measure to asses a working government...houses is needed also
