Unlike Seplat and Aradel who acquired new assets to diversify their portfolio, Oando’s acquisition increased its stake in existing assets, from 20% ownership to 40% in the NAOC JV. So yes, production increased due to a larger stake but the issues with high OPEX and finance costs in that JV still exist

They don’t need ing profit to pay back their debt. It’s an issue of cash flow. Debt repayment comes from operational cash flow, especially via their RBLs, which are secured against production, not earnings. They can run their losses on paper and still service debt because the assets are generating enough cash.

NB: I’ve not said one can’t make money from the stock. You very well can. I’m talking about it as a value investment, It is not run with the shareholders in mind.

You just dey speak English. The others bought assets to diversify while oando bought to increase their stake. So aredel and seplet whr not in crude oil business before buying this new assets. Oga they all increased thr crude oil investment with new fronts.
Then cash flow from oando will be used to service the interest on loan. They need profit from the business to pay back the loan which is among the many options available.
The company can not have the target of declaring loss because if they need to raise funds from other options to pay back the debt it will pose negative image be it RI,Po or private placement.

Others can not be making profits in thr new fronts and oando will be expected to be making loss.We know why the first acquisition went bad and stayed so.You don't expect this one too to go such way...haba.Or are you saying the loan is never intended to be paid back.
We wait to see the results soon.I can not accept the notion that a company target is to be declaring loss forever when it is l equally listed beyond nigeria boarders.

Na Alhaji dey pocket all the forex losses

I thought I am the only one that's not believing that all these CEO's are not part of these persistent losses.

I have always had the opinion alhaji is using sugar cost of revenue and forex loss to scam us.This is because they stopped him from claiming more of sugar shares via the merger. How could rice 1 share be 12 equivalent of sugar in that arrangement. Who did the valuation of the so called rice business
When he is done he will free sugar.
All these men na the same train carry them.He is collecting sugar money and using it to sort some bills in the refinery...simple truth.

OK o, time will tell. This acquisition was completed by Q3 and Q4 — yet what exactly showed up in the results? Like I said before, you don’t need to declare ing profit. Especially in oil and gas, it’s not about what shows on paper, it’s about what’s actually flowing in cash-wise. Companies like Oando focus on recovering their investment and minimizing tax, not impressing anyone with big profit numbers. As long as cash is coming in and they can service debt or reinvest, they’re good.

Look at Seplat’s recent results nothing fantastic profit wise, but their cash flow jumped nearly 15x year-on-year and that’s what’s funding their rising dividends.

Meaning they only plan to service the debt but no plan to ever pay back the debt.So you believe such financial institution have accepted such unwritten agreement. And the day oando goes bankrupt or close shop. The loan will be written off as bad loan as thr retained earnings is targeted to remain negative
We watch and see

Revisiting Tony Elumelu: A Champion of Generational Wealth Creation.
My Respect for Tony Elumelu (TOE) knows no bounds. In the history of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), I've never come across a chairman of a quoted company who has shown such dedication to investors like TOE. His advice to reinvest dividends in UBA before the 2024 rights offer1 and his foresight in preparing investors for UBA Rights Offer2 demonstrate his commitment to their financial growth.
TOE's leadership style is exemplary - he leads by example, speaks less, and delivers more for investors. His intelligence and experience as an emeritus chairman have been instrumental in creating generational wealth for faithful investors.
Personally, my investments in UBA, APR, UCAP, TRANSCORP, and TRANSCOHOT have yielded impressive returns, ranging from 100% to 1000+% since 2021. TOE's approach to leadership is akin to a mother duck protecting her chicks from behind, nurturing and safeguarding the interests of patient investors.

To benefit from TOE's ecosystem, one must adopt a long-term perspective, practicing delayed gratification and patience. His emphasis on reinvesting dividends has been echoed by APR initiative to offer a platform for reinvesting UBA dividends with interest.
Investors in TOE-led companies have been shielded from significant losses, and time has proven to be their best ally while impulse their worst enemy. I'm grateful for his leadership and vision.
Agbalowomeri is invited to the Tony Elumelu (TOE) investment ecosystem. He believes that the market values of the companies in the TOE investment ecosystem are unjustifiably high compared to their book values, making them unattractive investments.
For those unfamiliar with Agbalowomeri, he's a briliant and seasoned market player who successfully timed the NGX market from 2008 to 2022, showcasing exceptional trading prowess with both intrisinc and extrinsic knowledge in Technical Analysis. As one of Nigeria's most successful day traders, Agbalowomeri has made remarkable gains, earning him recognition in the investment community.🫡

You can't have access to the NASD trading platform through any broker for now. NASD is not like NGX. To trade on your own on NASD, you will need to their app and with your NASD details from the stockbroker you have an with. They will link you up to the trading platform using the app after confirmation that you have an active with a stockbroker that trades on NASD. Otherwise you will need to send your purchase/sale mandates to the stockbroker who will trade on your behalf.
