That doesn't stop the 5th position from qualifying. Arsenal's performance at the UCL earned EPL a fifth slot in UCL, it just so happened that an English team won Europa league. Six teams will be playing UCL football next season. Take a look at the table, the 5 teams going for UCL are marked with blue line same as Tottenham that's a step above relegation.
