Preciousgirl: One principal way the Holy Spirit speaks to us is by what is called the inward witness. You can see this in the bible: Romans 8:16 KJV The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Another way the Holy Spirit can speak to us is by visions/dreams. It's a mystery. Honestly, prophecy and divination are the only things that keep me believing in spirituality. I just can’t find a rational way to explain them. There’s no scientific formula that can make sense of it. A stranger will accurately tell you things about yourself, personal deep private matters you’ve never shared with anyone. How? Aside the things already written in holy books. The truth is nobody knows exactly how else God speaks with people. Some would say through vision, some would say through inner feelings, some would say through dreams, some would say through interpretation of signs and circumstances, some would say through other people. Etc. But the truth is nobody actually knows. And that’s why it’s easier to mistake things for God’s calling. If you believe the holy spirit is always with you, then it controls your conscience. That means it can speak to you in your pains, joy, sadness, anger—in all situations. It all about listening to your innermind when you need counsel or going through any situation—that voice that direct you to do good or do the right thing is the holy spirit talking to you. On the flip side, if you are someone that's always yielding to the devil, then you'll mostly do the devil's bidding.
