Based on the BudgIT report, The 10th National Assembly has gotten more brazen and fearless in it's insertion of new line items (padding). BudgIT revealed that in 2022 - they discovered 5,000 padded items, in 2024 they discovered 6,000 and without any form of restraint and brazen effontry discovered a staggering 11,000 padded line items in the 2025 budget. Maxymilliano: What's this clueless talk from a clueless man.... Of course when you're clueless as a president the national assembly will veto bills. The fact that the national assembly is not "fighting" the executive under Tinubu istration is because Tinubu is a good leader. For National assembly to be fighting the president is not to the benefit of the masses but rather the masses will suffer. The national assembly is not designed to fight or be in opposition to the president but rather check and work with the executive and the judiciary to bring progress to the country. No amount of instigation of fight between Tinubu and the national assembly will work because the leaders of the two arms Tinubu and Apkabio and Tajudeen Abass are wise men and extremely talented politicians. Nigeria is fortunate to have a these caliber of men at the helm of our country at such a time. Obasanjo failed woefully with his corruption and authoritarianism. Goodluck Jonathan failed with his bigotry and corruption. Buhari failed with his bigotry and inapt attitude. Tinubu is succeeding with his respect for separation of power and "carry everybody along" leadership style. There's a different type of politics to play within your party, inter-party, inter-arm of government, nation and foreign. Tinubu knows how to play them all and what's more God is on his side...sorry to all who might want to compete against him at this time because you all have lost already. |

There's only been 1 veto overridden in the history of the National Assembly. This is what happens when you think your job is to be buddies with the executive instead representing your constituency.

rainluv: Na you corn-fuse maybe you neva chop akpu today.... People like Bukola Saraki made Buhari fail and his cabal trying to checkmate Tinubu then made him fail to handle the National Assembly well throughout his tenure. To continue from where Buhari stopped not where Buhari failed or ed but to continue the effort of nation building. I hope your shallow mind and poor comprehension ability get it now but if not continue in your corn-fusuion tune in to AriseTV and get your afternoon dose of myopic thinking gist. ![]() |

Saraki is the only Senate president whose tenure was marked by internal rivalry between the senate and presidency! Last I checked, Saraki clashed with the executive not due to ideological differences but as a result of his own selfish ambition characterized by the manner in which he was elected to office openly pitching tent with the opposition against his party to hijack the senate leadership in a most desperate power grab operation the Nigeria senate has ever experienced! Someone should tell us what Saraki’s leadership brought to the country I see we have weak memory in Nigeria 1 Like |
