Hi House,

I'm looking for your opinions on Haisic battery systems for backup power, as I'm not going fully off-grid due to landlord restrictions on solar s. I'm on Band A power, which is mostly reliable, but we can experience outages of 16+ hours during rainy seasons.

My peak load is under 400W (excluding my fridge/freezer and a 150L Thermocool, which are currently off my 12V 105Ah inverter system). My total household consumption is around 700W according to my prepaid meter. I'm aiming for at least 14 hours of backup to get through the night with the 400W load, then I can use my generator to recharge and power the freezers.

I've seen a Haisic system d (though I'm relying on European specs due to some deceptive local marketing). The 24V 300Ah system costs ₦1.250m.

My main question is about system voltage:

Stick with a 12V system (e.g., Haisic 12V 280Ah for ~₦650k)?
Go for the Haisic 24V 300Ah system at ₦1.250m?
Or, is it worth waiting and stretching my budget (around ₦1.3m) for a 48V 5kWh system? I've read that jumping to 48V might be better in the long run.
See figures. Lol. Naaa so solar don expensive reach?

The vendor I am buying everything from including s and battery is quoting 640k. I prefer to source everything plus accessories and installation from a single source.

When I had issue like this, the problem was from the bms.so I loaded the battery overnight, then started charging again the next day.

Maybe u can try this out
were you using and hybrid inverter with this issue or a transformer based inverter? And was there a battery fault code on the inverter?

“I Began Collecting Them Years Ago and Now Have Over 650”:

This Man Has Been Powering His Home With Laptops Since 2016
An ordinary homeowner turned discarded laptop batteries into a powerful energy source that has kept his house running for nearly a decade. This surprising approach combines old tech with solar power in an unexpected way.

24 440 watt capacity s
Each battery pack is rated at 100 amp hours

Since 2016, a dedicated energy autonomy enthusiast in Farmingdale, New York, has been powering his entire home using more than 650 recycled laptop batteries. His system is installed in a shed roughly fifty meters from his house, where discarded lithium-ion cells are carefully harvested and assembled into a custom battery array. This unconventional energy solution combines recycled batteries with solar s to create a fully off-grid power system, providing continuous electricity for nearly a decade.

The one thing I love about the US is the vast land one owner can easily have. Imagine owning a property where you can afford to have a shed 50 meters away from your house in Nigeria.

Just for one second imagine that.

I love it for the man, many love the idea of going "off grid" in the USA for a variety of reasons ranging from independence from the government to saving cash in not having to pay for power bills.

Big thanks to HeavenlyBang for your patience and guidance. Best of luck to you all.

Hi HeavenlyBang. Morning bro. Back in 9ja and want to purchase the setup this week for a final installation on Sat. However I am still struggling with the issue of choice of battery. I have my eye set on a Felicity rated 7.5kwh 48V LiFePo4 at a decent price. But after doing a quick review research online, it appears some Felicity are known to not give 100% of their rated capacity. Please I need a final guidance from you before I go ahead and commit to a vendor today. Also going for a Growatt 6kva with Wifi monitoring and Jinko 620W s. Thanks.
The last time I checked, Felicity has different models of battery with different price. I suggest you get in touch directly to the company and ask them exactly what you want.

I'm personally having doubt about quality control of about 95% of foreign products floating Nigerian market. I noticed that when a new foreign company wants to penetrate Nigerian markets, it starts sending in quality products with enticing prices. When they gain ground, they change market strategies and start sending in substandard products.

Please, does anyone have any experience with inverter being exploded?

A customer called and told me yesterday that his 5kva 48v Felicity hybrid inverter exploded at about 8pm and smokes were every where.

Though I'm sending someone to his house today to check what actually happened but I tried asking him certain questions to know what actually happened. He told me there was nepa light (low current) but the house was running by the solar. The weather was normal and lightning/thunder at all.

The installation was perfectly done.

How old is the installation?
How loud is the explosion?

Blown mosfets especially big ones and varying sizes can produce such?

Stocked fan is another culprit.

A pic would be great to get the right section.
