Well done to Northerners. Let the Southerners waste their time on social media criticising government every minute, every hour of the day. There are so many useful government initiatives that Southerners simply refuse to key into. Every government policy initiative that is announced, they immediately dismiss it as 'na scam', or 'na propaganda'. Northerners just key in and take advantage without doubting. Well done to them. I read the news about Emefiele's seized 750 houses on nairaland this evening, and noticed the Minister of Housing mentioned 'Renewed Hope Homes'. Just out of curiosity, I searched it on google, and Lo and behold there are actually new homes being constructed in several states which are already available for sale for cash, or with a government loan of just 7%!. Compare that to a commercial bank mortgage that is more than 30%. The website functions excellently and prices are much cheaper than the equivalent houses in the open market. Yet, most Southerners, (including me until today) are not aware of these opportunities. 50 Likes 9 Shares |

DeLaRue: Please who has the link to the Student's Loans website. Let us share among our friends and family |

mrvitalis: According to this link, it seems the student population for Unimaid alone is around 27,000. https://networks.au-ibar.org/show/university-of-maiduguri-maiduguri-nigeria/wiki/Background. There may be one or two other institutions in the State whose students qualify to apply for the loan. I notice also that the report is of 'applicants', rather than 'recipients'. So, it could be that many of those who wrote JAMB, chose Bornu Universities, applied for the loan, but who did not secure ission were captured in the data. If they are captured in this data, that may explain the 42,000 figure. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

APCNig: I suggest you google NELFUND. Just so you know, the loan is paid directly to the institution to cover tution fee. In addition, each student applicant receives FREE (non repayable) N20,000 monthly maintenance payment every month of the year, whether or not the school is on holiday. This is a fantastic initiative. If it was introduced in Ghana, Nigerians will be complaining bitterly and say, God, why was I born in Nigeria. Yet, because it was introduced by a government they do not like, they want nothing to do with it. Unbelievable. I told a family member whose son is at a University, he showed no interest. Yet, his boy, a very brilliant chap, wears tattered clothes, and rubber slippers at school, and goes without food. This is totally avoidable, yet the father is not interested. He is a PDP er by the way - I don't know if that has anything to do with his decision. I think it is probably because of the word 'loan.' 10 Likes |

This data gives us an idea of states with the highest number of poor homes across Nigeria. If you can afford to pay your child's school fees, you won't ask him/her to apply for student loans.

Tinubu and his APC propaganda. All this fake statistics so that the North will vote him in 2027. We won't vote Tinubu in 2027. Even if he allocate the entire students loan to the North

The south really needs to do better when it comes to accessing government social programs. Kudos to the north for always taking the lead. They should keep it up.
