With experience on hybrid inverters with 500v max, has anyone try close to 480v or more VOC installation?

idsolar:i have successfully done 440v on a 450v max voc. It worked. Then i did 468v on 450v, hoping the very long wire will probably sag the voltage to 440v, didn't work. Inverter displayed 448 to 455v. And an awful sound was coming from inside the inverter. I had to remove one before it stabilised. Verdict : you can get close to the max voc, but dont cross it. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Good evening gurus in the house, I have been using a set of 8 units of 240W s with the following properties: Voc=37v, Isc=8.2A I just bought additional set of 4 units of 240W s with the following properties Voc=60V, Isc=5.2A How best will they be connected seeing that the large voltage and current difference between both sets of s. Thanks as I await your responses. |

stuffs2002: I think you should get a separate CC as I don't see how you can mix these s and get the full efficiency out of them. 2 Likes |

kristien4: Thanks for the response. This expected setup will likely hit 490v for the 500v max VOC Welion inverter. 1 Like |

Quick question, please Are 4 units of the standard used 250w poly Canadian solar s enough to charge a 220ah tubular battery during the day and still carry max load of 200w simultaneously before sunset using a PWM CC? For someone looking to buy a new tubular battery at the range of 250-300k, what’s the best lifePO4 alternative for around the same price even if the price is sightly higher? I look forward to your contributions. Thanks a lot |

Elizkid: Valto to buy a small lithium battery within your price range (24v). Get an external charge controller with sachet inverter for your system. You can also buy a hybrid inverter to go with your lithium battery and you are good to go. |

ManAdii: I don't have the money for a separate CC since I am using an MPPT for my system |

Hi House, I'm looking for your opinions on Haisic battery systems for backup power, as I'm not going fully off-grid due to landlord restrictions on solar s. I'm on Band A power, which is mostly reliable, but we can experience outages of 16+ hours during rainy seasons. My peak load is under 400W (excluding my fridge/freezer and a 150L Thermocool, which are currently off my 12V 105Ah inverter system). My total household consumption is around 700W according to my prepaid meter. I'm aiming for at least 14 hours of backup to get through the night with the 400W load, then I can use my generator to recharge and power the freezers. I've seen a Haisic system d (though I'm relying on European specs due to some deceptive local marketing). The 24V 300Ah system costs ₦1.250m. My main question is about system voltage: Stick with a 12V system (e.g., Haisic 12V 280Ah for ~₦650k)? Go for the Haisic 24V 300Ah system at ₦1.250m? Or, is it worth waiting and stretching my budget (around ₦1.3m) for a 48V 5kWh system? I've read that jumping to 48V might be better in the long run.

fuckboys: How far bro. How I fit buy this inverter? |
HeavenlyBang(m): 10:49am On May 21 |
Ayomipoe: Haisic 12v 280ah is about 460k. 24v 280aH is 800k. |

Another fear I have is that the 24V system is too closely coupled. Failure of either the inverter or the Battery may mean I need to do some gymnastics to either connect a new battery or inverter to the stack. Of course, the main attracting factor is the price of the system Ayomipoe: |

I am aware. I am planning to buy both the inverter plus the battery. My current inverter and battery setup will be going to someone else. I am replacing both the inverter and battery whichever option I take. HeavenlyBang: 1 Like |

Hi HeavenlyBang. Morning bro. Back in 9ja and want to purchase the setup this week for a final installation on Sat. However I am still struggling with the issue of choice of battery. I have my eye set on a Felicity rated 7.5kwh 48V LiFePo4 at a decent price. But after doing a quick review research online, it appears some Felicity are known to not give 100% of their rated capacity. Please I need a final guidance from you before I go ahead and commit to a vendor today. Also going for a Growatt 6kva with Wifi monitoring and Jinko 620W s. Thanks.
