My God , this is so sad. This situation is better imagined than experienced. But if I may ask, why has the Lagos State govt not done anything to nip this perennial issue in the bud?
Its being same story every year.

The people too are problematic... Go to lady Hilda's restaurant along Emma Abimbola, her restaurant and Olaiya's. . They don't only mess the environment with terrible smells coming from their waste containers, the gutters in front of them has long "caked" and become too disgusting to look at... Plus unnecessary holdup Olaiya always cause on that road...

The drainage is bad yes, and the yéyé people will still spoil am ...

Efcc should investigate all estates excos in Lekki, some of those excos has held house owners to ransome after retirement for survival, stealing estate money in the names of developmental and useless flood control projects, go back to your village, No

Estate elections is a must win for them, without it they are doom, most of the residents can't cry out cos they are also into yahoo, drug or something illegal, the few ones who cry out were advised to relocate to Ogun state by the excos while the yahoo boys asslick the excos for protection, Estate excos has leverage on that to loot and impose ridiculous bills on them

efcc should ask them to submit their estate s for forensic analysis,

Nigerians are funny people
See flood everywhere

This is the same issue with HOA in the USA. If you know, you know.

Disasters happen everywhere, but the response is what differentiates between civilized society and animalism.

This na Lekki Phase Zero....one of the top upper middle class areas of Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. Every year same flooding wahala for over 20 years now and no solution. And people spend hundreds of thousands of DOLLARS to live in this mess.

Tufiakwa!

Good Luck to Nigerians

Many of them moved there during dry season and nobody gave them update that they will swim inside flood

Lol grin

The best time to search for a house in Lekki is during the raining season, so you know the real situation.

What will they do? They tried clearing houses built on drainage canals the other day, people shouted tribal persecution. Lekki is a low land, I have actually seen water, clear clean water comming out if the ground without rainfall. Then imagine when there is rain. Omo, na suffering and smiling.

What did the govt wants to nip, for a start who ask them to reclaim land belonging to the mighty Ocean?

Don't you see what they are already doing at Bar beach, building an Atlantic City there, after reclaiming stretches of the beach and Ocean land

Now tell me, when a heavy downpour came, where do we expect the waters to go
