APC will win the 2026 governorship election in Osun State “cleanly and clearly.” - Hon Wole Oke

A member of the House of Representatives, Mp Oluwole Oke-BOO , has declared that the All Progressives Congress will win the 2026 governorship election in Osun State “cleanly and clearly.”

Oke who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC also assured President Bola Tinubu of a sweeping victory in the state in the 2027 general elections.

This is as the lawmaker who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, gave the assurance while speaking with Sunday PUNCH.

“Mr President should go to bed. Osun State is already in his kitty come 2026. By 2027, we are confident of delivering one million votes for PBAT,” he assured.

Oke apologised to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola , for opposing his re-election in 2022.

“We have tried two wives now, and we now know which one is better,” he said, symbolically describing the return to the APC as a correction of past political misjudgements.

He noted that despite the PDP’s victory in the 2022 gubernatorial election, the margin was too slim to be celebrated.

“PDP narrowly won the 2022 election with just 28,000 votes. In 2026, we will atone for our mistake with over 45,000 votes in favour of the APC,” he declared.

Oke lamented the current state of governance in Osun, saying, “We are worse off looking back with hindsight.”

He argued that Oyetola, despite facing challenges like COVID-19 and limited revenue, managed state affairs prudently without borrowing a dime during his tenure.

The lawmaker claimed that the total revenue and budget handled by the Oyetola istration over four years was less than what the current government has received in just two years, especially following the removal of fuel subsidy.

Commending the appointments of Osun indigenes into strategic national roles, Oke thanked Tinubu and Minister Oyetola for their contributions to the state’s political relevance at the federal level.

He is not in charge of monetary policy that affects inflation, the best he can do is offer resources to farmers which he did, I believe you have been to Oshogbo, he is constructing a bridge there and replicating infrastructure development in each local government. Apart from communal clashes between community due to land dispute or dispute over kingship , Osun has been relatively peaceful. You just vexing for nothing... The so call Airport has been allocated to the Nigeria Air force to build a base, of which they already express interest during Oga Oyetola's regime if I . I said he is replicating infrastructure development in each local government, unlike our immediate gentleman Governor that focus on Oshogbo alone. How can you say IGR is nothing to write home about when industry are setting up shops in the State.
