Mancity has reached the end of it's lifecycle as a squad.

Nothing short of a total rebuild can bring this team anywhere near the status over the past decade.

The team looks tired, laboured and totally wasted. It was sad looking at how the team has deteriorated technically and tactically so badly.

I think the top Premiership teams should take a cue from the top Laliga teams and how they are able to renew their squads year after year to maintain top level performances over extended periods.

The cycle of bang and bust that have hit teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, United and now City is a point of study. You can hardly see Real, Barcelona or Atletico going through the blues...(pun not intended).

Why maintain a squad until half the players fall into terminal decline before rebuilding. This is so common in the EPL amongst top teams.

Laliga clubs make thier money from individual TV rights, premiership clubs make theirs from shared TV rights.
Laliga ig boys can afford to poach other team players, premiership clubs can comfortably keep thier players except they want to sell for a profit or avoid a loss.

Atletico doesn't make half the revenue United does, Fc Barcelona has been in a financial crises for years and barely signed players this season, even Real has been scouting free transfers lately due to their stadium repayments but they get their squad renewal programs often right.

The Premiership consistently out spends all other leagues in the transfer window yet it is unimaginable to see Atletico in 16th position or Barcelona go trophy less or without a title in four, five years despite their financial challenges.

The mentality is just different amongst the elite teams of Laliga from their counterparts in the Premiership. In Laliga there are no sentiments. They sense when a player is no longer cutting it or waxing into the squad and toss them out.

Griezmann can no longer make match day. What was Benardo Silva doing on the pitch yesterday. What was the idea bringing Ilkay Gundogan back from the dead if not sentiment. Even top talents like Ousmane Dembele were let go because they just did not fit.

The Premiership may be excellent at commercial stuff but when it comes to the footballing aspect of the game, that is the management philosophy, Premiership teams
just do not cut it.

Manchester City is clearly in decline and the hope of football lovers is that this is not the beginning of the all too familiar bust cycle.

The revenue generated from the top two teams is almost equal to that generated from the rest of laliga put together barring atletico Madrid.

The revenue generated in the English league is almost evenly spread out, someone going on relegation gets almost someone winning the European gets.
What does that tell you, premiership is way more competitive and tiring than laliga.
As for the trophies you mentioned what is the ratio of clubs winning trophies in laliga compared to EPL over a 20 year period
This shows you the competitive nature of EPL competitions.

That is the work of VAR, see what the ref cannot see in the heat of the match with innumerable cameras on the pitch!
Easy thing to do; still the pix at the point of foul and call the ref to go check it for easy decision but VAR ignored it
I believe some decisions are manipulated for reasons best known to them for or against City
this is an atrocious crime against the game!
It's not a fair thing to do with millions following this beautiful game and being manipulated for gains!

I'm not even a City fan, but I still cannot wrap my head around how a keeper could handle a ball outside of his 18 yard box and he was not penalized in whatever way or the other. It has never happened in football before.

VAR does not improve the game, it's destroying it instead.

I partially agreed with you, but Arsenal is above Conference cup, anything other than Champion league, EPL or F.A is a fork to me. In fact it is failure cup for me, I can't imagine Arsenal or Barca or City playing conference cup, I will never watch or buy ticket for that nonsense conference sheet. If I does, make I go blind

Arsenal that hasn't even won Europa League in their life wants to claim being above Conference, lol. Tottenham with 2 Europa League in the past can brag about that, not Arsenal that hasn't won a single one all their 139 years span grin

If a Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man United (despite their worst form), Mancity fan had said the above, I coule have just overlooked it. Coming from an Arsenal fan is highly laughable. Imagine a failure making choice. grin grin grin grin
