BORNO, May 13 (AGCNewsNet) – At least seven Nigerian soldiers have been confirmed dead following a coordinated attack by suspected Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters on a military base in Marte Local Government Area, Borno State.

Sources told local outlet Yerwa Express News that the assault occurred on Monday afternoon, with the militants overwhelming troops stationed at the facility. of the Civilian t Task Force (CJTF) reported that the assailants outgunned the soldiers before seizing three gun trucks and around 70 motorcycles—equipment reportedly designated for anti-terror operations.

The base was subsequently set ablaze, and unverified footage circulating on social media shows fallen soldiers covered in leaves as their colleagues attempt to identify them.
