Is Nigeria drifting to one Party state?

The chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (retd.), has said that there are three factions of the Labour Party in Lagos.

She made this known during a stakeholders forum in Ikeja on Thursday.

She said three factions of the party invited LASIEC to observe their primaries in respect to the July 12 local government elections in the state.

“Three factions of the Labour Party in Lagos invited us to observe their primaries,” the chairman said.

According to her, LASIEC officials did not honour the invitation due to the perceived division in the party.

Ighile said the state electoral body would be waiting for the advice of the Independent National Electoral Commission on the next step in the development of the LP.

NNPP is a dead horse as far as presidential election is concerned. Even at the state level, everyone is just looking for the right opening to quickly APC before the governor eventually dumps the party. Kwakwanso wants to be president and it is only a national party that can deliver the presidency to him. As at today, we only have two parties with the national spread to win presidential election: APC and PDP. By ing APC and delivering Kano and indeed North west to the party in 2027, he will be a hot favorite for the party's ticket in 2031 when power will automatically go back to the north. He may even emerge as Tinubu's running mate if Shettima is dropped in 2027.

If he s Atiku's coalition of hate and envy, he will only be a bench warmer no matter the outcome of the election. And to make it worse, he can't contest in 2031 as Atiku will be seeking a second term and after that, power will return to the south. So i ask again, why exactly should a Kwakwanso your coalition? To get what?

None of you and the other guy have explained how he will stand a good chance in 2031 in NNPP. I hope you are not going to be so ignorant as to say Kwankwaso will defect to APC.
