Dangote, BUA To Freeze Cement Price For Government Projects (15145 Views)
Akwara25: 7:05am On May 16 |
Nigeria is the most useless country on earth.. Just tell me one reason federal government can not allow many Nigerians to start producing cement.. thought Tinubu will do it as usual, wonder why he still leaves the business for housa people to hijack the business... Housa people use Buhari and their northern agenda and stop other tribes from producing cement... |

Well, since you are a beneficiary of the incompetence of BAT's istration, it is easy to him. When a bag of rice was N8,000k and cement N1,500, bat was among those who protested about the high costs. BAT's anti-masses polices took rice to N120,000 and then down to N75,000, but you want Nigerians to praise him... ridiculous. When prices of goods and services reduce to a commensurate prices relative to 2014 levels, then bat can be said to be working. Fuel should not be more than N300. Cement N4,500 Rice N25,000 etc... Then the masses would feel the positive impact of the policies. 1 Like |

OlujobaSamuel:please be specific here, there are two types of rice in the market, long and short grain. Short grain is between 60-70k while long grain is between 80-90k. So he may likely be talking of long grain why yours is short grain. 1 Like |

ivandragon: Let's be fair in our comments, all these prices you put here was when both dollar and pms were being subsidized which all the top three presidential candidates in the last presidential election said it is no more sustainable and promised to remove them if elected and it was its removal by this government that makes everything go up. 1 Like |

parags: See. They will increase the price for the public so as to sell cheaper to government - indirect taxation on top. The same thing that has been happening to the forex market for 50 years is now happening for comodities. Multiple prices for same product. And the result will be round tripping. Anyway since we did not complain about multiple prices for electricity why complain now. Tomorrow government will strike a deal with Dangote to buy fuel at a reduced price for itself and its lackeys and the public will subsidize that too. In other climes there will be outcry at the widening gap between the haves and the have nots, about how the poor subsidies the greed of the rich. But here praises already at what amounts to the inability of government to build prosperity for all, an egalitarian society. 4 Likes |

MadPolitician: More so, why is cement business so profitable that Dangote and BUA became so rich as no. 1 and no. 3 richest businessmen in Nigeria? Is it that other investors are being chased or frustrated away for that sector? Or is it a licensing strain issue? Something is just fishy in there. 2 Likes |

Odidigboigbo:I don't know about the price difference, although I know there is long and short grain, I'm speaking on the general pricing that I've seen so far within the last 3wks |
Segzy19: 8:28am On May 16 |
You would be creating business for the government contractors as those ones will buy in excess at the 'frozen' rate, use what they need for their projects and sell the rest to the public at the real market rate... No be Naija we dey?

Guestmale: A number of things... The prices I put are already over 150% increases over what the apc met. A 150% increase in 10 years is ridiculous already. Even some war torn countries don't experience 150% in goods and services over a 10 year period. If the apc knew prices were 'low' because of subsidy, why did it criticise the pdp and protest that things were too expensive as at the time? Candidates promising to remove subsidy does not mean they would handle the economy incompetently in the same way as bat. Under pdp, prices of goods and services increased, but the purchasing power of the masses also improved. The bottom line is that apc are poor and incompetent s at the centre. 1 Like |

You were obviously cheated! If u get 55k I go show u where to buy for that amount in Benue and Nasarawa state, 60k for Abuja.. crackhouse: |
Guestmale: 10:31am On May 16 |
ivandragon: What would have your candidate done differently. When you remove subsidies on this critical commodities it will definitely have ripple effect on other sectors of economy. During PDP regime barrel of crude oil was being sold for over $110 dollars but later fg was borrowing to pay salaries what did they do with money generated when crude was at it's highest price ever. Diezani chop her own, Dazuki also did father Christmas with it. We used to forget things easily, Buhari regime has to bailed out many states government who has gone bankrupt and couldn't pay salaries of their workers.
