(2) Is your Igbo/Ibo State governor among those who have agreed to the formation of State policing? (3) Is it PBAT that is delaying the formation of the State Police in the 36 States and FCT? (4) The LG autonomy has your Igbo/Ibo State governor allowed his LGA chairmen to open the s as requested by CBN? (5) Has your Igbo/Ibo governor started an State Power Project so as to take his State out from the national grid? |

Axis313: It would even better if they politicise and employ the right number of people, what if they employ just 500 personnel's and tell FG they have employed 5000. Humans are hopelessly wicked and heartless in this part of the world. |

Each State should have its own Forest Guard that are recruits of that State. Forest Guards from Imo Forest should come from Imo State.

It might interest you to know that Col Fajuyi was first a Forest guard at Ilorin but when he was kicked out for not being from the North he went to the local Army recruiting office He ed the Army and became a National hero The rest is History |
Christistruth02: 12:00am On May 16 |
franchasng: Thank you for recognising this good initiative My advice concerning the North is that there is so much bad blood between the Fulani Hausa and Middle belt that they cannot guard each others areas Hausa should guard Hausa Areas Fulani should guard Fulani Areas And middle belt should guard the Middle belt areas Otherwise they will sabotage each other The Fulani security officials always found a way to to try to sabotage Amotekun That was what led to Amotekun handing Fulani bandits to NSCDC instead of Police 1 Like 1 Share |

kettykin: Let them use external forces (merchinaries) first to clear the bushes before engaging innocent citizens to guard the forest if they are sincere. Since nobody is ready for recruitment into Nigerian army because of the way they are being killed everyday, this is another tactics to get them employed and transfer them to war front. Be wise. . |

Absolute scenes when northern states recruit bandits as their forest guards and make that turd called Turji their commander. Can't put anything beyond those folks.

Upon all the security agents with their intelligence, they are only good in intimidating and extorting the masses. If truly we are Nigerians let us protect her. It's not reserving the police, army, Navy, Custom, NSCDC, NDLEA, etc to intimidate and harass the masses. While totally new, half baked security apparatus is be used to fight terrorism doesn't make any meaning to me. Terrorist groups that ran down an army base you want to go after with pumping action? I pity those that will take this job offer.

Why are they avoiding State Police. It's the solution to our security challenge. Let the Governor be chief Security officer with a state commissioner of Police answerable to him. |

Kobojunkie: Dem do you complain. Dem no do you complain also. You've been like that for 50 years on this forum. Do you ever introspect? Probably not. Arrogant know-it-all, who are ignorant in reality, never do |
WizardOfNG: 3:46am On May 16 |
wildernessVoice: Forget State policing. Only like 10 States can fund it adequately and that is even with suplementary stipend from the FG. Regional policing is more feasible and will be more efficienct. It is as simple as that. |
hakeemhakeem(m): 3:46am On May 16 |
Agbegbaorogboye: So this forest guards aren't police? the article stated the number of men each state will provide |
WizardOfNG: 4:02am On May 16 |
Brenbentondiaz: That's their own problem. If the South and Middle Belt Forest are cleared of criminals, killers and unsavoury elements, leaving those regions safer, then the North should suffer alone for their own self-inflicted lunacy and aberrant views on life and communal existence. When they are tired of dying then they will do the right thing. Tinubu is being clever giving every region, with the delivery of independent development commission and now "heavily armed" forest gaurds etal, the chance to make the best of their land if that is what they want. Those who want their land to be a killing field of terror, death, illiteracy, backwardness and fundamentalism should get that. Those who want peace, security of lives and property, plus socio-economically progress, should get that also. |
WizardOfNG: 4:06am On May 16 |
TheBillyonaire: Correct. That is how it will be. |
F117nighthawk: 4:10am On May 16 |
You recruit all the low class people, they will risk their lives and will be paid peanuts as salaries or renumerations. The Nigerian average citizens don't even know their rights or their worth.by the time those ones too are employed they will also start abusing their own positions and oppressing those they are supposed to protect.what a country and system |
hardass: 4:11am On May 16 |
zombieHUNTER:Give Naija people small power dem go abuse am. . They are so messed up mentally. . .bleeped up mindset! |
WizardOfNG: 4:21am On May 16 |
pepericozi: The recruits will be "heavily armed" and "well-trained". When Nations face emergency threats (which Nigeria is facing with banditry, kidnapping and terrorism) then ordinary cirizens can be conscripted into the armed forces as ad hoc security solutions. The key is the pledge of "heavily armed" and "well-trained". If the FG will deliver that sincerely then even Forest gaurds trained well over two or so month and armed with adequate firepower and technology (drones etal) can clear our forests in three months. The development is a good one because once bandits, terrorists and kidnapper have no untouchable hideouts then they will leave Nigeria or stop their criminal conducts. The forests are currently crucial to them and have alway been because it is where they eat, sleep, strategize, evade our armed forces and , most importantly, keep their weapons and human victims. Nigeria must take back her forest to stand a chance of winning the war against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and even ritual killings. A lot of terrible and unspeakable things happening in our forest currently. |
Diligence: 4:40am On May 16 |
MNK was light years ahead of fg/PMB by setting up ESN, to protect forests, farmers, et al. Guz: in case U don't dig it, Ur forests represent Ur future... The places that were forests some decades ago are now cities & industrial areas. Now imagine when U allow terrorists to take over Ur forests! |

F117nighthawk: Straw man argument. When has Amotekun been know as "abusing and oppressing " those they are supposed to protect? Why can some of you, as adults, not take your example from factual reality we can all see instead of lying shamelessly? To the greater point, what exactly is "low class people"? Such language indicate you look down on ordinary Nigerians. The reality is that Nations recruit and conscript professors to bricklayers into their armed forces in times of danger, internal conflict or war. Nigeria is at war over insecurity even if some of you don't have the adult mindset to note that and prefer continuing your obdurate obsession with giving a Dog a bad name to hang it merely because you have sworn never to like or praise anything about the APC or "Yoruba Government". This is a great development for those who value security of lives and property plus socio-economic progess. No one is asking you, your brother or father to so spare us your irresponsible negativity. Amotekun has grown into the best supplementary force to the NPF because Yoruba leaders organised and funded it relatively well while ordinary Yorubas patriotically ed the Corp well in good numbers. As a Yoruba, givern the success of Amotekun, I am excited at the thought of the improved security and socio-economic prosperity (maximum farming yield and inflow of FDI for example) the clearing of unsavoury elements and criminals in the forests of the region can do for Yoruba land. Please reject it in your region and carry protest banner dissauding people from ing forest gaurds but don't run to Yoruba land to enjoy improved security and peace when criminals flee our forest for yours that is ungaurded because you have decided to take an emotional and childish outlook over what is a very serious, existential and adult matter. |

Equip them with drones, weapons and everything needed to flush out criminals from our forests.
