grin grin grin cheesy cheesy

This was what I was telling TemporaryHansel the other day.

If na Northern states this thing affect, you would have seen them making noise

Come to the South, and you won't hear peem

Yet, we drag them for fighting for themselves

Northern Governors would have held like three press conferences by now..Only a dishonest person would argue that..

i think more likely there was a consultation and it was agreed the glitch would not cause significant deviance in the results. and the challenges [cost implications, logistics etc] with running a new exam were presented and this was the path agreed.

i have been there before on projects.

If this did happen and they took this decision, then I'm not sorry to say it was a stupiiiid decision and everyone involved in such decision making process don't deserve to have a job.

Waig first! Why are u talking about cost implication like JAMB was set up to generate revenue and save cost? 🤷‍♂️

Was JAMB not set up to conduct credible university entrance exam? Do u that simpky by virtue of this glitch matter blowing up in their faces JAMB 2025 is actually a failed project?

I mean... it's very simple

JAMB released the results of 1.5 million candidates; 379,000 to resit because of technical glitches.

20% is not negligible. And to think that a whole region was affected, but the Prof that transformed UNILORIN to Harvard standard missed it.

A very good case to sue JAMB and collect damages

The family of that girl that committed suicide actually have a ground to sue JAMB.

If Nigeria was abroad sef, u would've seen candidates affected by this incident banding together to sue JAMB. They would sue for damaged for the emotional distress caused them

So how should we trust anything from JAMB going forward?

Omoh.

How are we sure it is not more than 379k sef.

When the resit is completed, I doubt we won't still see students who would claim they affects by the glitch but were not scheduled for resit like others.

That one will be another issue entirely.

setting up another exam will come with cost implications
jamb will have to pay the centers, mobilize invigilators, pay educare
students will have to do their logistics again

as an aside this is what makes NL work

a friends son scored 162 and i messaged her this morning. somehow she was not aware of everything going on. she hs checked and confirmed that the guy is resitting his jamb tomorrow. please anyone you know whose wards may have failed their jamb to do a re check ASAP

So where did the money for this resit now come from? Is it outside their budget?

There's what is called cost-benefits analysis now. Can't u see that if they had expended that cost of resit without this whole controversy, the benefits would've been worth it?

At least everyone would've had trust in JAMB for being that exam body that can right its wrong without being pushed to do so. Now they saved that cost only to expend it and now public trust in JAMB is lost

Yeah, i have heard great things about him for years now.

I think he allowed his reputation to cloud his judgement in this case. He was so concerned about maintaining his reputation for excellence that he neglected to do the right thing at the right time on this occasion but ended up staining his own white more.

That is why he was crying. Simple thing he could have done to prevent calamity at the onset, he did not do.

......well, I really don't like it when people get emotional to defend their lapses. I salute his courage though, coz this is Nigeria where its better to bury the truth than revealing it.

He earns my respect for itting the error and taking steps to correct it. Even though the white garment is stained, he has taken 'hypo' step to unstain it.

Fail children en mass and schedule the resist in 48hours..Zero preparation for both the institution(Jamb) and the victims..So I ask, why not just remark?

well .actually it was oba that laid the groundwork for reforms.

there was literally a cabal in unilorin that fought the man at every turn. but he successfully broke them

it will sound like lore or internet BS but when oba officially resumed a 6 foot snake was waiting in his office. there was a lot of talk about how it happened, but today i understand the incident for what it was - the cabal were sending a message and a warning

every nation has some form of standard exams. this is actually very important because your school can be inflating your scores. my sister ws in fgc new bussa from jss1 to jss3. she was coming first first first. then her JSS results were mid. my folks moved her to FGC ilorin, and she took her SSCEs with all As.

a standardized exam is critical.

institution need to be moe than individual though

......I understand your points bruh, still JAMB has outlived its purpose as NYSC. It should be scrapped. SSCE should be enough, then pre-ission exams by the Institution(s).

So when he announced the result, he didn't bury anything?

I don't know why you all are just emotional towards this blunder.

The guy goofed. He messed up. There's nothing courageous about lying and then coming back to say the truth.

He's not some junior officer that spoke out by disobeying his superiors. He's the Supreme Head to JAMB.

In a sane country (which Nigeria is not), he would have resigned after shedding those tears.

We have been conditioned to think then when people decide to be able, they are doing us a favour.

Instead of appreciating his honesty, una dey roast am like suya. Is this the way to actually correct the wrongs?! Others who might wish to follow his step incase they make mistake would have a rethink.

it happens all the time in projects and you have definitely experienced it before. where you try to avoid the obvious solution because running it will be a pain in the ass and a significant disruption

last month, my system had an issue brought about by windows upate. i tried to fix it, and then the system refused to boot. i spent over 24 hours trying to fix the issue before i surrendered and reinstalled windows. because a reinstall is far more disruptive. we had the same issue ona project. the solution would require that we did extensive and expensive civil works. but after we tried everything else, we had no choice and we had to go with it

What is honest about knowing there was a glitch that affected 379k people since the 17th, and still lying about the results?

Ehn?

I would have loved you to explain what's honest about that, but then, someone who ed Buhari even as he ruined Nigeria and then came back to tell us he's the worst president ever, can only understand political honesty.

Honesty indeed.

Arise TV is reporting that the technical glitch is that they didn't the answers for the 379k.

But they had results...So where did JAMB get the 190 that they gave them?
