Locotrader:How is PO a good thing for champion. That means dilution of thr shares. To meet free float they don't have to go the way of PO Then for IB ministry .The bull in brewery is as result of improved result which is as result of increase in thr price of thr products..And IB had turned to profit like other brewery .Don't forget they have very good selling products both non alcoholiic Thr only problem is is bloated OS. I am expecting reconstruction in future |

Ibrahim505: I did not have all these issues with Veritas. I just visited Zenith bank, got the form, filled and submitted to them. I used Zenith bank , thus I am among the first to be paid each time. My younger sister did the same but didn't get for two years until this year when I returned and asked her to repeat the same process, fill the one on NIBSS portal and also send Veritas a filled and signed E-mandate form via email. One of these processes apparently worked because, without doing anything else, she received this year's and previous years' payments. 3 Likes |

Actually, it is. Even if you didn't know any formal finance, the school of real life in Naija should've taught you that a naira tomorrow is worth less---a lot less---than a naira today. When people park money in a stock that's going nowhere for a while (I'm not just talking about Ellah), the damage to your wealth is real. SonofElElyonRet: 5 Likes |

DEAP CAPITAL MANAGEMENT AND TRUST PLC. Q1 STATEMENT. The deep financial crisis in DEAP Capital offers no hope for investors, but favors traders. The recent increase in market activity and share price of Deap Capital Plc is notable, especially considering its first-quarter 2025 financial statements. These statements present significant challenges, including negative equity and accumulated losses, raising concerns about the company's long-term viability. Given these financial indicators, the possibility of potential delisting from the NGX warrants consideration. Based on my analysis of the financial statement, here are some potential red flags: 1.Negative Equity: The company has negative equity. As of March 31, 2025, the total equity is negative at N'000 (2,627,879). This means the company's liabilities exceed its assets, which is a significant going concern issue. 2.Accumulated Losses: The company has significant accumulated losses. The retained earnings/ (loss) brought forward is N'000 (5,508,415) as of March 2025. This indicates a history of losses, which erodes the company's capital base. 3.Borrowings vs. Assets: The company's borrowings are a substantial portion of its total assets. As of March 2025, borrowings are N437,354,000 while total assets are N302,752,000.This indicates that the company is heavily reliant on debt to finance its operations, which increases financial risk. 4.Cash Flow Issues:The oxygen and life blood of Deap capital is in a state of comatose. The statement of cash flows shows negative cash flow from operating activities. The net cash outflow from operating activities is N4,833,000) for the quarter ended March 2025. This suggests the company is struggling to generate cash from its core business operations. 5.Going Concern Risk: The combination of negative equity, accumulated losses, high borrowings, and negative operating cash flow indicates a significant risk that the company may not be able to continue as a going concern. Disclaimer: I do not have a single unit of DEAP Capital, nor do I plan to invest my hard-earned resources in it. I was searching for the next UCAP on NGX when I came across its Q1 statement. 4 Likes |

@HesinMe, Your concern is a global phenomenon, not unique to Nigeria. With this mindset, accumulating wealth might be challenging, as you can't control inflation and government policy. Our parents made similar mistakes, thinking tangible assets guaranteed future prosperity. Today As a modern investor, you can hedge against potential future inflation that erodes currency value. With this approach, an insolvent company today might become the next PRESCO or UCAP tomorrow if only one can spot the future potential. By following basic investment principles and DD, you can potentially turn NGN 1 today into 10X tomorrow. My portfolio is a testament. HesInMe: 6 Likes |

FTN Cocoa has tremendous potential that's been unrealized due to poor management. The day a capable team takes the reins, the story could change dramatically. Bizibi: 1 Like |

He is probably a civil servant. You can't make big money from the stock market without going through a serious risk, because once everyone see the same signal you are waiting for, there would be little or no visible growth. If you don't have very big money you lean towards time, you invest in long term project that has potential of yielding more than normal thought returns. if you don't have a very big capital, your risk tolerance must be huge to make something meaningful out of the market. Who do you think the venture capitalist are. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

@Agbalowomeri, I disagree with your assertion. The key is consistency, understanding the principles of investing and faith in the market. As a self-investor, I've never had large capital. I sometimes invest less than N50K on NGX and under $2K on NYSE. I trust the market and believe my investments will grow. My SMART goal is N1B on NGX, and I'm halfway there. I've weathered both good and bad days in the market. Agbalowomeri: 6 Likes 1 Share |

I'm reminded that we're the same generation of great Akokites who witnessed the era of Late Prof. Jelili Omotola. The truth is, we all have different life timelines. Hence, the need to consistently pray for God's guidance. I started investing in NGX in 2008 and NYSE in 2022. Initially, I was always in the red, but by applying basic investing principles, I turned things around. On NGX, there are companies that can shield your portfolio from potential downturns, and the same applies to NYSE. Agbalowomeri: 3 Likes 1 Share |
