Good morning great minds
Please I'm having a serious issue.

I got advise here for my load to buy at least 3.5Kwh battery but then my installer advised me to just close eye and buy 5Kwh which I did. I was too busy that period and I'd made calls for prices and gave him money to get them for me…it was Sako that he brought. I’d done some things with the man on the past and he was trustworthy. I didn’t know anything about the product but I trusted him.

Now, here’s the issue. The battery was running down fast with just my standing fan of 70watts and charging of phones. It would go from full charge to less than 50% by morning even though I started the system around 10pm. I had to send it back. The factory tested it for 2 weeks and said the battery was good but that we have been charging it wrongly. They told the man (my installer) how to set the inverter to charge it well. I think they said it should charge at 15amps or so.

Few days ago, I bought Scanfrost Inverter freezer. The freezer is amazing…starts running at 145watts and goes down to about 45 to 50watts in the space of 2 to 3 hours when the compartments have maintained a certain temperature. My battery charged full yesterday as I wasn’t around and didn’t use it during the day time (I’m using 4pcs of 550watts for now). I ran the freezer from 7pm till 7am this morning and the battery that has 6bar has gone down to 1bar which means it’s already less than 15%. Only a standing fan of 25watts and the freezer were the loads on it. Please is this right?

Attached below are pictures of the load rating I met this morning; the battery bar signal; and my setup (not a neat one though due to some back and forth, had to change the inverter at some point thinking it might be the problem; but we plan on confirming that the system works well before looking for aesthetics)

PLEASE HELP ME🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so much
Sorry about your experience, Sako is crap. So many complains.

No, you can't

I mean, a conductor is a conductor at the end of the day but why would you want to do that? Please buy proper DC cables. 6mm if you're running a HF setup.

Good afternoon house

My inverter setup is as follows: a 3.5kVA inverter with two Luminous tubular batteries. I have three 555W Jinko solar s connected in parallel to an old 60A Modern Felicity charge controller. 6mm copper wire from the s to the charge controller. However, the cables(6mm) from the charge controller to the batteries tend to get warm, and sometimes even hot. What could be causing this, and is there any solution?

You're putting up to ~40A through a 6mm cable, I'm not sure what you expect. You need thicker cables.

The attached picture is usually the cheapest and a quite reliable shunt. You can also search Jiji and Konga to get better prices by using search words like "shunt", "coulometer", "energy meter" and "coulomb".

However, note that the above can only properly measure energy going one way (either charging, or discharging). If you want one that can measure energy going both ways (at the same time) you need to use the kind that clearly states so, like the type Dam5reey1 uses in his videos. Linnov8 sell that I believe.

My oga, thanks so much for the recommendation. It is actually I-innov8 (Iinnov8), more like disruption, and wanting to do things differently, but I now see that it is not exactly a good choice of name, because people understandably confuse the I with L. Thanks all the same

I don't know what you mean by old charge controller, but I suggest you get a 60amp charge controller and connect your s in series.

Thank you so much. Which do you advise I go for please?

Or rather, will the one-way serve properly for the purpose I’m needing it?

Mr. Linnov8, how much do you sell yours please?

My empathies about your situation, bro. This is definitely not the right time to make any mistake in choice of renewable energy components.

I have a KL110F Coulomb meter with Bluetooth app function that does an excellent job showing your charging and discharge values. I also have a crude, but detailed video showing you how to connect it

Price: 47,000

My bad, and to think I always wondered what your name meant...now it makes perfect sense.

I use the 10kw version, yet to have one complaint.

But it was bought in early December and noticed most of the complaints on here started later sha.

I wouldn't recommend their inverter at all, never used it but never heard anything positive about it either.

For your issue and if you use it properly, the one way will serve perfectly.

However as can be seen from Iinnov8's post, the other build is far superior and has more features you could need later on, especially if you don't have a big brand inverter.

We are not telling you to buy it because we think we want you to wasting your money, we are telling you to buy dc cables because if you don't, all the solar power you got will be zero. The importance of the dc cable to transfer current and voltage cannot be over emphasize, and you said you use two batteries, those two batteries will be needing 20amps minimum to charge well. And the ac cables which can even work with solar s well are those one that you connect from the nepa line into your house not those one on your socket.

Experts in the house (HeavenlyBang, Dam5reey1, etc), please help me make a choice between these two batteries. I wont recommend any of them, they are overrated..

1.8M for 4.8KWH.
When the LVTOPSUN I am using is 2.2M for 15kwh.

I'm thinking they cost that much because they are higher voltage rated and LiFePo4. I am strongly leaning higher voltage cos they require lower current to operate which means less heat and no fans needed so no battery noise. Your LVTOPSUN is 24V abi?

I blame the sales manager who use to be on this thread.

When people started stating they were having issues on this thread, instead of him to concentrate on customer service, he was busy dropping deal after deal and then abandoned the thread.

Typical naija businessman, treating your customers like they are dispensable and not taking their issues seriously. Underestimating word of mouth. One of the reasons why Nigerians struggle to create brand loyalty.

Since I have been monitoring this thread, their is no brand someone has not had one negative thing to say about, but at least when you are starting off, try and take customer issues seriously to create that initial trust.

Oh well, it's their Chinese partners I pity.

Thank you so much boss.

I’ll sincerely prefer to go for the other referred to me here because of cost and if the other one can still serve my purpose. Nevertheless, I like quality. So, what can this one do that the other cannot apart from showing charging and discharging values at the same time?

You've don well, the battery is/has been charging but obviously it won't reach 100%.

Next thing you have to do is this, just when you're about to go to bed, take same set of pictures you just took and send them here, when you wake up in the morning too, do the same.
Hopefully that should give us some more data to analyze.

Very true, that means they're delivering their capacity.

The next question is, why does the owner think they're rated for 5kWh?

Yes it does, and why we are advising you to get an independent meter is to be sure that you can trust the information from the battery.

For now, follow the advice Juror gave, but until you get the independent meter, you can try fully charging it and running your load, ignoring what the inverter says and see if it is satisfactory.

Also to estimate your real load, the 2nd pic can be used to do so (thats if the battery is not charging and you are running the inverter):

Voltage * Amps= real load (when running directly from battery and solar is off).

You can then have an idea of the true power of your appliances till you get the independent meter.
