Man, you don't know that. They've deserved what they've got because they prioritized their cup competition run over league competition which really takes a lot from them given the weekly nature of it and because they don't have enough player resources due to injuries and squad depth to really compete in EPL. Unlike cup competitions which are mostly one-off games.

Even Sevilla FC, most successful club in Europa does it so well. Most times, they'd finish midtable for the sake of winning Europa. Same thing happened lthe season they won it last against AS Roma
