Good evening. I'm planning on adding s to my 6kw inverter setup. My typical demand is usually less than 700w with spikes to 2.5kw when i am using AC and some other appliances.

My plan is to use Jinko 620W . How many do i need? I have a 15kwh cworth battery

10 of those s will take you off-grid.

Is it safe to use my bathroom water heater with the inverter? Currently have it off the inverter.

I was thinking of getting 8. Will it be cutting it too close?

Anyone pls

jstemmanex:
Pls going by the recent discussions here, what's the recommended for a 3kva 12v setup with 4kw battery and 60A CC

I'm considering 4 pcs 250w Trina or 2 pcs 550w Jinko

Twice I’ve tried quoting you I chop ban, what’s going on?

SMS has a 12 2kva inverter with max pv 400v and 80a mppt cc

Hi, I use your exact inverter too and the two occasions I've had the MCB Trip issue was an unusual power surge (from Nepa) so the inverter trips to protect itself. If I raise the trip at the back up it works after the current stabilizes.

I think your charge controller might be the issue too, I use an 80A mppt that can take 1040w but I have a 1185w PV array.. a little close to the specs.

If you check the trip at the back and is down u can try rai if it will come up
what’s your battery capacity?

Hi bro,

Which product of 80 amps CC are you using?

Heaters are usually about 2kw.

You can run your heater just fine off a 15kwh battery.

Eight s will serve too if your budget doesn't allow for ten.

Eheh.. I don't know why oo.

Last time I used that inverter the complained about interference. So I cancelled it from my recommendation.

Thanks so much. They are actually 1200w heaters.

What kind of installation cost should i expect for the 10 s? I live on the ground floor of a two storey building

200ah 12v
you're still under the battery recommended by the inverter.

It has a switch for 200ah battery, but my battery is 280ah i guess that's why the mcb keeps tripping while trying to charge my barrow.
jonescosmos(m): 9:52pm On May 11
This is fake, small Chint 2p terminal block ends at 63A, Big Terminal Block are in 100A & 125A rating. See attached pictures. Take note of the CHNT engraved on the body.

The size of the battery is extremely unlikely to be the reason why it's tripping. To make it crystal clear, the battery could be causing it to trip but it's not due to the capacity, as the switch you are talking about likely only adjusts the charging current or so.

Anyway I think all the issues you are having might be caused by more than one variable ....so I suggest that instead of dropping different posts, you should sit down and make a video that catches all the issues you've described. Post it on Tiktok or preferably Youtube and drop the link here.

Also in the posts I've seen from you, you've said little to nothing about the battery or its voltage (which to me is what you should be more concerned of as it the most important and expensive part of your setup).

I think in an old post you mentioned you had a coulometer or something. Connect it up as instantly that would allow us to know if your BMS is what's cutting off charge and so on.

Depends on a lot of factors

Cost of hiring ladder/ scaffolding cost

Area

Expertise of installer/material installer plans to use

Etc.

I've seen installation done at 200k, and installation done at 300k. Both is worth what they say. As they didn't use the same material/tools.

It's probably a fake copper 6mm cable which couldn't handle your current inflow from the . Your 6mm should not be hot

Get a secondary way to test the cc in another step up around your location before considering this my opinion stated below

Get a 4mm Coleman solid red/black cable and run it straight from to CC.

State your location, somebody might be around to help you out
look at what I highlighted. Using those cables will it give u the best out put and no lose of power, like how reliable is it?

i will try to do this but I just connected my old 100ah battery and the inverter still refusing to charge it and keeps tripping mcb. So it's not about the battery size.

Can a voltage regulator cause the inverter to do this?, coz I have a central voltage stabilizer connected to my whole flat.

If your old battery is still with you, test it with it
I've tested the inverter wifh my old 100ah battery and it still refusing to charge the battery. It's saying mcb trip but the actual mcb switch at the back of the inverter isn't switching off. It's still on.

jonescosmos(m): 6:30am On May 12
This looks fake to me, I know the OEM to be Hager not TOMZN. Moreso, the model has failed multiple times at currents greater than 40A.
I recommend you use the MTS MCB as attached below if your load is going be more than 32A. This has an internal mechanical interlock that switches off the common load when you switch on the backup load and vice-versa.

The solar PV cables can easily set you back over ₦200k

The stated cost I quoted above is not inclusive of cables.

Good morning great minds
Please I'm having a serious issue.

I got advise here for my load to buy at least 3.5Kwh battery but then my installer advised me to just close eye and buy 5Kwh which I did. I was too busy that period and I'd made calls for prices and gave him money to get them for me…it was Sako that he brought. I’d done some things with the man on the past and he was trustworthy. I didn’t know anything about the product but I trusted him.

Now, here’s the issue. The battery was running down fast with just my standing fan of 70watts and charging of phones. It would go from full charge to less than 50% by morning even though I started the system around 10pm. I had to send it back. The factory tested it for 2 weeks and said the battery was good but that we have been charging it wrongly. They told the man (my installer) how to set the inverter to charge it well. I think they said it should charge at 15amps or so.

Few days ago, I bought Scanfrost Inverter freezer. The freezer is amazing…starts running at 145watts and goes down to about 45 to 50watts in the space of 2 to 3 hours when the compartments have maintained a certain temperature. My battery charged full yesterday as I wasn’t around and didn’t use it during the day time (I’m using 4pcs of 550watts for now). I ran the freezer from 7pm till 7am this morning and the battery that has 6bar has gone down to 1bar which means it’s already less than 15%. Only a standing fan of 25watts and the freezer were the loads on it. Please is this right?

Attached below are pictures of the load rating I met this morning; the battery bar signal; and my setup (not a neat one though due to some back and forth, had to change the inverter at some point thinking it might be the problem; but we plan on confirming that the system works well before looking for aesthetics)

PLEASE HELP ME🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so much

Thanks. The cable was indeed the major part of the materials. Guess i'll negotiate the installation fees then

SAKO is garbage, no one recommends it here anymore for a reason. Send that battery back and get your money back.
