Ibime: In SS1 they automatically place extremely brilliant students in Science class irrespective of what they decide . You will only be placed in art or commercial if u insist. Other students are allowed to freely make their choice ; tho the school counselor still tries to convince them on what may be best for them . |

semid4lyfe: Have u tried getting him a home tutor ? Sometimes home tutors help kids learn better |
Ibime(m): 7:02pm On May 10 |
BlueRayDick: We are making the same point. Sharp students in science and dunces in Arts. I don't recall specifically making a choice in SS1, Science was always a given. The choice is usually with the dunces in Arts who want to do Science and have to make their will be known. But the choice is there. If you have been sitting in an area of class with sharp minds like Bode, Souala and Arinze from JSS1 to 3, sharp irons who also sharpen your iron, you will not willingly go and sit with Mumudu and Portable in Arts class who you have known as dunces since JSS1, that's recipe to dull yourself. 2 Likes |

semid4lyfe: Find Numberblocks on YouTube, incentivise them to watch it religiously and thank me later My son found Numberblocks on his own and knew all his timetables, prime numbers, square numbers etc by age 4. He could even extend it further and be doing 13 times, 14 times up to 20 times by adding up. He has changed his watching interest from Numberblocks in the last two years but you can't catch him out with any addition, multiplication or division till date. He has even started Algebra and can find X in a simple equation from age 6 His senior sister on the other hand struggled with timestable till age 8 so I had to start bribing her with £1 per Numberblocks video till she completed her timetable recently. Mind you she was still top 3 in Maths in her class but the constant praise of her Junior brothers proficiency in Maths wrecked her confidence and made her feel inferior such that she would not look at timestable or attempt any Maths. Sometimes she would be doing homework, calculating and counting her fingers furiously and her Junior brother will just shout out the answer within one second, infuriating her and wrecking her confidence. So I had to have a talk with her to explain that her brother is exceptional and not to pay him any mind, while laying out bribes for her to learn timestable and hanging timestable on her wall for her to inculcate every night before bed. 18 Likes 5 Shares |

Donald J. Trump Today, I signed an Executive Order to launch the first-ever self-deportation program. Illegal aliens who stay in America face punishments, including—sudden deportation, in a place and manner solely of our discretion. TO ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS: BOOK YOUR FREE FLIGHT RIGHT NOW! this sounds unfair for a president to be at the fore-front of deportation |

BlueRayDick: I actually got 2 of the 4 questions you posted without blinking. That's already 50%. With guessing on the multiple choice, I may get one of the other 2. With one night of revision, I would get them both, so rest with your Government talks. E get some Maths or Physics courses, you will start reading one week out from the exam and you will quit within the first 10 mins because you know you have no chance. Immediately, headache and depression will start to catch you simultaneously and you will just write it off as carryover because you can't kill yourself. 3 Likes |

Theflint1: Lmaoooo If you are the greatest physicist in the world, you will fail a nebosh IGC exam if you don't prepare. This is a simple safety course that involves just writing and no calculation. The thing with courses that involve just writing is that if you don't study, you'll find yourself repeating answers because the questions look very similar. |

Ibime: In which secondary school was this law? And before you start capping, I am a science student. So how many secondary schools did you attend in Delta State to deduce that majority of the class A students where in science class? Because unlike you, my family owned a secondary school in warri and I am pretty sure I have better understanding of how education works than you. So how you take come to this conclusion? |

liveLongNprospa: Voltron of the Arts No be talk, we did it. Most of my Maths courses were revised in one week max, some in one night. My Partial Differential Equations exam was sewn up from scratch in 3 days with 96% mark, you dey talk about social sciences wey we go use 2 hours memorise everything for the whole semester. In ing exams, we had Enterprise, Management and Financial pillars. Never spent more than one overnight session on Enterprise and Management modules, na Financial modules we dey spend like 3 days on. I have a friend who is now in Angola who studied tourism degree. I did every single one of his coursework and had him on course for 1st class, the nugga fvcked it up back to 2.2 with his performance in exams. Funny enough he is the nigga I am always arguing with about Ibrahima Traore, bloody art student Don't compare memorisation skills with science students please. Niggas done see blood for eye. I am a particularly lazy student who only gears up in exam week, have done that my whole life. ing exams especially the non-numeric ones were like walk in the Park after tackling heavy Maths exams up to Masters level at one or few days notice. Na Kola nut and redbull we dey use write Maths exam, zero sleep the night before having left revision till last minute. But if na arts course, we will sleep like baby, wake up 5 am, read for 2 hours and exam without attending one lesson all semester. I am speaking from experience because my degree was 3/4 Maths, 1/4 Economics. Never attended Economics lessons because they clashed with my Maths modules and were too easy to catch up on. 7 Likes |

liveLongNprospa: Wetin you dey yarn sef? Is there anywhere class A students gravitate more toward Arts than Sciences? Na Rivers State I dey, which one be Delta. And no be only una get school So you are telling me that in Delta where Oil industry is the main game in town, sharp students will rather gravitate towards Arts than Science/Engineering that pays in oil industry. Maybe Delta boys dull, not Rivers boys 2 Likes |

Ibime: I ibime's claim about class separation right from JSS, I went to a federal unity school in delta so I can attest about about majority of students would rather be in science or struggle at least for it na only those wey head nor carry am go give up to arts or commercial. 7 Likes |

liveLongNprospa:I think the question should be how the greatest sociologist or management student would fare taking elite science exams, even with preparation. There's a reason you almost never have science/management students doing cross-over into sciences while the reverse is the case. |
Theflint1(m): 9:29pm On May 10 |
Dathypebruv:Even BlueRay knows this, but he's using himself and his buddies that were probably outliers to speak for everyone in social scienes/management courses. |

Ibime: So many hidden stuff d happen for our mining industry. Illegal mining here and there. That industry is corrupt and deadly. For Tinubu to put en right hand man there to oversee that sector ( Dele Alake) means sai en know what's going on there. Dele Alake go cash out big time. |
BlueRayDick: 9:37pm On May 10 |
Theflint1: Oga there were several dull science students in my secondary school . And for the smart science students , I don’t consider them superior because we took same courses up till the point we were separated in SSS class and they never bested me . So u don’t see Ibime who is a first class science graduate making himself both the sample and population of the data set Abi , na when I speak for management/social sciences u Dey point out outlier . What bias will do to u people ehn…. 🤦♂️ 2 Likes |

Theflint1:I had this story of Bezos in mind on how difficult some courses are even for the brightest of minds, Bezos had a problem solving an equation and within minutes of taking same question to Yosantha man called Cosine as the answer. I studied statistics but have helped an aunt with assignments on political science and she aced the assignments. First one I collaborated with a political science grad the other one I did it by myself. I argued why I think APC will win 2015 Presidential Election citing merger, general dissatisfaction about insecurity and economy, and violation of rotation principle. I barely attending Entrepreneur, Philosophy and Logic and Nigeria peoples and Culture classes but ed them by attempting past questions a day before, .my attempts to do same in other science courses landed me poor grades or carryover that plagued my life in school. |
Theflint1(m): 9:43pm On May 10 |
BlueRayDick:Of course there'd always be dull science students that social science/management students will bench, but point is, that on average... Smart Science Students > Smart Social/Management Students Average Science Students > Average Social/Management Students Olodo Science Students > Olodo Social/Management Students Keyword being on average 9 Likes |

TemporaryHansel: Same way our parents discriminated to make sure we understand what puts us in best position in life is same way we must preach the STEM message to the younger generation. This thing fit be matter of life and death for them Yes I do discriminate in real life. Na so my niece wey spark 9 A stars at GCSE and is more intelligent than all of us talk say she no go do Maths for A Levels. I had been fighting with her for 2 years to let her know A Level Maths is the foundation for her to be brilliant in whatever her course of study. Even if she wants to be a Doctor, she would not be a brilliant Doctor without at least a grounding in Maths up to A Level standard. Luckily she chose Biology and Chemistry for A Levels, leaving the Medicine route open, then combined with English and another nonsense. That one leaves the Lawyer route open. Finally she done pick Law and Cambridge done invite her otherwise would be a monumental waste of talent, so my mind done come down small. Even at her not choosing Maths at A Levels, my pressure still forced her to seek a solid grounding in Maths that has helped her to be brilliant at A Levels and will surely mould her logical reasoning going forward. This life no be play, adults wey know as market be should not allow children to make wrong choices and fumble their future success 8 Likes |
