You are capable, stop complaining. What is hundred k monthly for a house fitted with 4 ACs. It's not too much, continue to do what you do to keep it at that range. Or go solar offgrid and rest
im also on band A tariff and with all those things listed he is likely to pay up to that amount monthly.22 bulbs makes me wanto ask if one is living in a cave ni.how can you on 22bulbs in day time..:I’m only able to manage my consumption by switching off all appliances and changing over since I’m not home in day time and I switch on the needed ones when I get back home.thats how I manage to use about 30k monthly with noAC o

I can use a TV for more than 12hrs and a 30000 ltr non Inverter freezer i hardly use fan
No AC and i dey load 3k every other day
Though once the things in d freezer is frozen i put it out
Washing machine too like once a week
So that ur 90k is on the high
Sometin must be draining it
Wen u are out of the house all appliances off
Check to see if u have same unit u had wen u left

The rest of the world has constant electricity 24/7 and so it is reasonable to pay even if it is expensive. The question is, does your country have 6 hrs electricity supply in a day? Let alone 24hrs?

OP didn’t complain about light not available though

I saw where someone posted he spends 20k monthly with fridge and AC and he's complaining.

Mine I only on fan, laptop and charge phone I don't even on light bulbs. Yet I spend 30k plus.

Any month I mistakenly turn on fridge 50 something thousand will go.

I stay in PH. Woji precisely. I have steady light but omo I pay through my nose.
I see more than 20hrs daily.

You'll get 20hrs today and then get 5 hrs the following day.

We're talking about countries with 24/7 power supply, not Ur I get more than 20hrs daily.

Go to SA and Ghana and see what I meant by 24hrs power supply.. Ghana have had electricity for more than 50yrs without blinking that's exactly what I meant by 24hrs power supply!

The fridge stayed on for like 14/15 hrs, it's a small air fryer mostly use on weekends, i don't even know the watt. I think the culprit is the AC which I've stopped using, I only put on just one AC for 3 hrs but I still end up spending close to 100k monthly . If I recharge 3k in a day, before 24 hrs it would have finished . I had to stop using my water dispenser, I'm not used to this exorbitant fee and it's really draining me.

Are you sure your connection has not been bugged? 90k per month seems like a lot, even if you are using an air-conditioner(I'm assuming it's an inverter AC). Also, what's the wattage of the air fryer? Can you also cut down on the number of hours your fridge stays powered? You could reduce that to 6 hours per day. From my observation, if you power a chest freezer for 24 hours, 10k worth of power unit may not last for morethan 3 days. So I'm guessing your refrigerator might be a culprit.

I'm just so tired of the exorbitant fee on the band A. I spend 90k/100k per month. I only put on just one AC 1&half horse power for three hours in a day, I have to stop using the other four AC. 4 ceiling fans-2 wall fan for 15 hrs, 1 TV for like 14 hrs, 22 bulbs,1 fridge, occasional use of washing machine, pumping machine and air fryer.

Is this normal? It's is so draining, just like I'm paying a house rent in my own house. Could this be as a result of bad wiring or na so everyone dey feel am.

My guy na so band A be o. There was a time I hit 150k a month. It's insane.

Story of my life. Same Woji.

Funny thing is that even if you don't put on anything for 2 days, the next time you turn your devices on, it would seem as if they would charge you for the unused days.

What you can do is switch to solar, though this will cost you about 2m or so.

I'm also on band A and the electricity cost has been something else, I recharge almost 15k weekly... Even with solar. What I see here is that if you want to save cost on band A, you must forget ing your air conditioner. Or try to use it for just 2 hours in the night and manage fan till morning.

grow up must you show everyone that you are from a Slump??

In Nigeria, Band A electricity consumers under the new tariff classification are supposed to receive [b] 20–24 hours of power supply per day.

If you're a Band A and not getting up to 20 hours, you can lodge a complaint with your DisCo or NERC for possible refunds or adjustments.

You re not the only one, my brother. It seems they have doctored the parameter that manage the prepaid system for Band A from those electric company(specificly keja electrics). Before now, I use to load 300units at 65.7naira for a month; but now I load up to 670 units at 225.22naira. I did my finds last two weeks, and I discovered that the prepaid meter now reads faster than normal meter reader which was not so before we were upgraded to Band A.

Why do you think Aso Villa is now planning to go Solar? The tarrif is now crazy.

I just moved into a new place and the area is Band B, and the meter is Band A, they made a mistake. I recharged 20k and it lasted for just 3 days and we dont even have to 10hrs of electricity in a day. I have 2 units of 1.5hp AC with one fridge, TV, standing fans and bulbs.

By calculations, I would have spent an average of 200-220k per month. I quickly ran to them to complain and they changed to Band B.

Band A can't be for normal people.

The best is to switch to solar. You're already doing 1.08M - 1.2M annually. 4-5 ACs you'll need 10kW inverter set up, the and battery will depend on your daily consumption patterns. But in less than 5 yes you should break even.

N100,000 per month on Band A is N1.2m per year. In 2 years, you would have spend N2.4m on electricity bills with nothing to show for it.

There are 3kVA Solar Portable Power Stations with 2kWh Lithium Battery selling for N2m and you can buy 2 units of 400W Solar s for N200k. This will power your apartment 24 hours for 10 years without you paying an extra dime!

I'm currently using one, so I'm not just reproducing what I saw online. With just the equivalent of your 2 years Band A electricity bills, you will acquire your own clean, noiseless, and constant electricity source for more than a decade to come.

Maybe you are having debt on the meter before.

However, which one did you prefer ,the old ways of paying for darkness or the new way of paying much for the light used

Band A remains a dubious strategy to attract and enrich power sector investors. If you are carved into Band A, just know that you have been selected to pay the power bills meant for 5 energy consumers. cheesy

Whether you cut down your energy usage or not, you will still pay based on the predetermined billing. grin

Consider solar installation strongly even if you have to take a loan.....
