You are capable, stop complaining. What is hundred k monthly for a house fitted with 4 ACs. It's not too much, continue to do what you do to keep it at that range. Or go solar offgrid and rest

saphiere: You'll get 20hrs today and then get 5 hrs the following day. We're talking about countries with 24/7 power supply, not Ur I get more than 20hrs daily. Go to SA and Ghana and see what I meant by 24hrs power supply.. Ghana have had electricity for more than 50yrs without blinking that's exactly what I meant by 24hrs power supply! |

Foodempire: What you can do is switch to solar, though this will cost you about 2m or so. I'm also on band A and the electricity cost has been something else, I recharge almost 15k weekly... Even with solar. What I see here is that if you want to save cost on band A, you must forget ing your air conditioner. Or try to use it for just 2 hours in the night and manage fan till morning. 2 Likes |

G0odharddick:grow up must you show everyone that you are from a Slump?? In Nigeria, Band A electricity consumers under the new tariff classification are supposed to receive [b] 20–24 hours of power supply per day. If you're a Band A and not getting up to 20 hours, you can lodge a complaint with your DisCo or NERC for possible refunds or adjustments. 6 Likes |

Foodempire: You re not the only one, my brother. It seems they have doctored the parameter that manage the prepaid system for Band A from those electric company(specificly keja electrics). Before now, I use to load 300units at 65.7naira for a month; but now I load up to 670 units at 225.22naira. I did my finds last two weeks, and I discovered that the prepaid meter now reads faster than normal meter reader which was not so before we were upgraded to Band A. |

Why do you think Aso Villa is now planning to go Solar? The tarrif is now crazy. I just moved into a new place and the area is Band B, and the meter is Band A, they made a mistake. I recharged 20k and it lasted for just 3 days and we dont even have to 10hrs of electricity in a day. I have 2 units of 1.5hp AC with one fridge, TV, standing fans and bulbs. By calculations, I would have spent an average of 200-220k per month. I quickly ran to them to complain and they changed to Band B. Band A can't be for normal people. 3 Likes |

The best is to switch to solar. You're already doing 1.08M - 1.2M annually. 4-5 ACs you'll need 10kW inverter set up, the and battery will depend on your daily consumption patterns. But in less than 5 yes you should break even. Foodempire: |

N100,000 per month on Band A is N1.2m per year. In 2 years, you would have spend N2.4m on electricity bills with nothing to show for it. There are 3kVA Solar Portable Power Stations with 2kWh Lithium Battery selling for N2m and you can buy 2 units of 400W Solar s for N200k. This will power your apartment 24 hours for 10 years without you paying an extra dime! I'm currently using one, so I'm not just reproducing what I saw online. With just the equivalent of your 2 years Band A electricity bills, you will acquire your own clean, noiseless, and constant electricity source for more than a decade to come. 2 Likes |

saphiere: Maybe you are having debt on the meter before. However, which one did you prefer ,the old ways of paying for darkness or the new way of paying much for the light used |

Band A remains a dubious strategy to attract and enrich power sector investors. If you are carved into Band A, just know that you have been selected to pay the power bills meant for 5 energy consumers. ![]() Whether you cut down your energy usage or not, you will still pay based on the predetermined billing. ![]() |
