The only Governor of the 2007 -2015 Class who can touch Akpabio's coattails is maybe Fashola.

Forget how I dunk on Akpabio to keep people like him on their toes but he was a very good Governor. Asides initiating and completing projects, the executed ones are very durable. Roads and bridges Akpabio built haven't required renovation for most parts 10 years after leaving office.

And, yes, the man is right - nobody can touch his achievements; not even Peter Obi if we are being blunt.

For context, Amaechi and Uduaghan were receiving roughly the amounts as or more than Akpabio but Godswill towers above both of them combined for project execution.
He might inflate contracts (they all do) but he ensures the projects are done.

The ones here with underperforming governors who served concurrently as Akpabio but give their governors a or never criticise them yet want to nail him.

If there was no term limit and Senatorial District rotation agreement in 1999, Godswill would have edged it for a third and fourth . That's how much he's still loved amongst Akwa Ibom folks.

And, like Tinubu, Akpabio raised men and women. The new generation of politicians and multitude who got wealthy off state government benevolence trace back to Akpabio mostly.

You know what's up! That Ini Edo set. The Nadia's and the fairest of them all. Ini was even a tourism ambassador and was in charge of organising tourism shows and events in the state, and the most beautiful Nollywood actresses and socialites use to practically holiday in the state, having unrestricted access to Ibom Le Meridien Golf and Resorts.

I repeat, if Natasha was hanging around him constantly before she became Senator, a lot happened between them. Heck! Immediately she won the Senatorial election, she went straight to Godswill with her entourage before her reception with Kogi people, APC versus PDP regardless. The reason is obvious.

While Akpabio was governor even outsiders used to brag like Go and see what Akpabio is doing in Akwa Ibom. Obi on the flip side even his own Anambra people were cursing him steady

There was someone on Twitter who asked people to show him 10 tweets during Obis tenure as governor that praised his work

Even on this forum, many Anambra people's consensus was that Obi was a failure and many wished Ngige could be back to office as they saw more of Ngiges legacy in the 2yrs he spent than Obis wasted 8yrs. There was a guy though Onlytruth who believed Soludo was the guy.
