You want to urge farmers that are getting killed in their farms to sell their products cheaper but you can't urge your use less government to beef up security.Truly most Nigerians don't know the source of their problems.
grandstar:

What does your salary have to do with the cost of power? Based on your reason, a tuber of yam should cost N200, and a bag of beans 10k.

Why don't you urge the farmers to sell their products at a rate that is friendly to your pocket? Let them throw away the need to cover their costs of producing their crops and also make profit, so the consumers can be very, very happy.

Genco's and Disco's must cover their costs, or they fail. That is why the FG was owing 4 trillion to the Genco's, because power is sold below cost from Band B to E if I am correct.

which kind yeye lie be this?
Why do you think he is lying. If you are not in his shoes you won't understand. 1 million Naira now is equivalent to 100k in purchasing power in 2014.
Our purchasing power has reduced very well due to inflation and devaluation.
I won't say much again before they tag me and place a ban on me because the ban these days is not just the bot but by government ers who are s in this platform, who are on government payroll. They don't want dissent voices.

Same here. Highest I spend in a month on light is 4k. And that's when I put on the water heater a lot. maybe they are servicing debt or the discos is taking them for a ride.

Kindly outline how much it cost you to completely switch to solar. I spend #10k a week on electricity. Band A to be precise.
Sometimes I am happy when they take light.[/

All depends on how much you can afford. There is a set up for 1.5m and there is also a set up for 15m. I first set up cost about 500k (2021). While my second set up cost about 7+m (2024). All comes down to what you want to power and how much you are ready to spend

U are lucky,I am on band A but that isn't my problem,my expenses per month is close 1.2million naira.

It's if I am not making progress at all, just this first quarter of the year,I expended about #5,996,000. When I checked my expense book,it was like a dream honestly.

But sincerely speaking,If i had depended on my salary,I would have ran mad.

I am just wondering if those that are not working are feeling the heat of this istration, cos they seem not to be complaining like us.

My rent per month for a two bedroom apartment in Abuja here is #208,300. For a year it's #2,500,000.

House hold expenses wants to kill me oooh my country people.

I had to stop tracking my monthly expenses because it was giving me mental issues. No month I don’t spend more than 1 mil. No need to explain to some here as majority wouldn’t even understand.but its crazily scary

If N10k last you for 2 weeks which simply means 20k per month, then that is fair pricing when you have like 20hrs per day. Electricity is not cheap anywhere. Na decades of subsidy make this pricing look weird.

We just need to ensure we increase wages so people can afford basic things like electricity.

Affordability is the main problem here. If we can have massive jobs and increased wages, then it will be easier for the populace to afford things.
Absolutely agree. Constant electricity isn't cheap in any part of the world.

I'm forced to agree with those who say Nigerians don't know how to be productive with constant electricity.

I use to hear "inflation is coming down.

I do not see how it is coming down o.
N10,000 only gives me around 40kwh of electricity which lasts me for only 2weeks to power

•my AC for like 1hr daily
•Fridge is powered for around 10hrs
•Ceiling fan is powered for around 15hrs daily
•And 3 light bulb around for 7hrs.

I spend around 20k monthly on just light bill.
Light bill and rent alone cost around 55k per month, rent is 400k per year. it outrageous.
Its very cheap my brother. Compare it to having to buy fuel. Energy is not cheap anywhere in the world that is whybthey have it constant
Babaibeji2020(m): 5:01am On May 09
Bro,sacrifice a bit of funds, with the consent of your landlord.....INSTALL SOLAR.......!
Since December last year till date,my generator has been stowed up somewhere in my apartment. This government is devilish...install even the basic of solar setup and you will know how much you've been suffering and still be smiling without knowing......Get any solar package, you will always wake up smiling, knowing how much you would have spent on fuel to have such a refreshing heat_free night.....I kid you not.

When checked my expenses from January till date, I noticed I have been spending over a million monthly on family and all.....I just went to a spot and got my self a very very chill drink having just realized that all this while, I be one small millionaire but I nor know.......
This government nor go kill us.....

I on AC for only 5mins and put it off when the room is cold, I do this like 7-10 times a day.

I put of everything when I leave house in the morning and put them back on in the evening.
I don't see how I should be spending 20k on light bill, it doesn't make sense

Go sell your AC and fridge. Or move to a neighborhood that's not on band A.

Problem solved.

The fact that some nigerians in their right mind still defend this stupidity called cost reflective tariff annoys me. When it's time to justify wickness you make comparison with the rest of the world but when the masses demands what's obtainable in the rest of the world pertaining their welfare you simply they are living in Nigeria and not spending dollars.

Has power generation improved significantly? I relatively have same hours of power since 2010 in my area, yet bill is shooting off the roof.

You know the joy of it is that we are all in this mess together. How do you justify this massive inflationary effects in 10years of a particular political party's rule.

Only kids and fraudsters will not complain of this regime. To an adult Nigerian now 10, 20, 50 and 100 naira notes are virtually useless.

A country wants to bill us like the western world yet her minimum wage is less than 50 dollars. Let's all continue pretending that all is well. A big burst is coming soon.

Electricity is never cheap anywhere in the world except Nigeria.
But if you go to the north, their metering is diff.
Even on band A, they pay very little.

2/3 of Nigerians are not civil servants. If you are one, organise a protest. You have a union or is everything politics to you people?

Electricity is never cheap.

Before this band A,B,C of a thing, I lived in a place that always have constant electricity in Abuja and our bill was the highest for any residential area.
Estimated billing was so high, everybody opted for prepaid meter. And no complaint. The people living there can afford it.

Categorization of electricity into bands is one of the most stupid things this govt did.

Everyone should have 24/7 electricity, and everyone should be billed the same. But no. The scam called Band A.

And the power minister is already hinting at hiking electricity costs. Again.

So that what you are complaining will stop.Everybody Wil be moved to band A and get required numbers of light then pay the same amount
