Civil war have ended,Igbos outside south East that denied their igboness just to avoid been treated bad by other Nigerians are returning small small. But there were those in south south that held their igboness strong even in the face of injustice and Intimidation,We are to be commended. Even Stella Damascus confessed that their surname is Ojukwu, but they have to change it to Damasusu after the war because of how they are treated for being Igbo. Igbos have really suffered in One Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3Lj2G0dFno 2 Likes |

yarimo: There are about 3 positive thread about Igbanke here on nairaland, yet u find it very difficult mving a story to FP for nairaland community to do what they came here to do which is debate amongst themselves. I'm starting to think Jarus was right about you. 1 Like |

Saying we are not Benin doesn't automatically mean Saying we are Igbo. Propaganda can only thrive but for a while then the reality on ground will reveal the true situation on ground eventually 1 Like |

For anyone that doesn't understand Ika, this thread is a lie and I would advise the to take it down for violating rule number 9. The topic is misleading and Igbo wasn't even the topic of discussion

ehikwe22: If that Igbanke woman is not enough for you here is the Obi of Ottah. They dat do not hear will feel. The Obi of Ottah in Igbanke speaks: We are not benin people. We are Ika Igbos. We want Anioma state. |
ehikwe22: 5:52pm On May 08 |
Stolen:is that what the video said? The post is deceptive and misleading. And the Obi title didn't originate from the Igbo. Obi is an Ika Title that originated from Ovbi. Eze in Igbanke is not a title. It's the word for king. And reverting to that name has nothing to do with Igbo. |

Stolen: More disinformation. Saying he's not Benin translates to Saying he's Ika Igbo? Igbanke has never called themselves Ika Igbo. They're Ika and that's been the Identity for centuries . The interviewer tried multiple times to trick the king into saying he's Igbo, but he consistently said Ika. He said they speak IKA LANGUAGE just like Yoruba is language. The lady also never mentioned Igbo. |

I am yet to see Igbo people claim any tribe. Igala has been with us in Amanbra for thousands of years, till this day they are Igala and at best we call them our brothers but at no time have we sought to call them Igbo people. But u see these minorities, they are constantly looking to impose their identities on people they know are from other tribes. After that, they shout Igbo domination. |

This igbanke thing is a afon template to drive wedge between the Igbos and the binis and we all are falling g for it , why after almost a century are the igbankes on the march for recognition as a proto Igbo ethnic group? It doesn’t matter where they belong as long as mutual respect and justice is paramount , this whole thing is an afon ploy

Nobody invited them, they settled in Benin as offsprings of slaves of the Benin kingdom, Benin and Edo people never for once spoke about them, if they are tired of being in Benin, they can pack and go to where they like. I wonder why all these hysteria, Benin people have never talked about igbanke, inconsequential topic.
