I am firmly contemplating the struggles that civil servants face in coping with the soaring cost of living in Nigeria. It is crucial to recognize the challenge of feeding a family of five, including those in universities and secondary schools.

Life isn't fair to all.

I am jealous of you. Before I stopped using Napa completely, I was spending 170k/month on electricity. Appliances includes: deep freezer, fridge, 1.5hp ac (10to 15hrs daily), fans, bulbs, kitchen electronics, 3 tvs. Now I am completely off grid through the use of solar

Kindly outline how much it cost you to completely switch to solar. I spend #10k a week on electricity. Band A to be precise.
Sometimes I am happy when they take light.

If the country wants vastly improved power supply, its citizens must be ready to pay cost reflective rates for it.

We may not like it but that's what is needed. The FG owing Genco's 4tr is because power is heavily subsidized. I think it is only Band A that is cost reflective.

Band A is a scam, i had to go get a rechargeable fan, only one Ac is in at a time and one had to ration the AC...this is pathetic.

How will i pay more than 3 times brand B for same hours of light consumed

Thank God that 20k can sustained for a month.

Here in Ph, 100k and above for band A.

Maybe you don't iron and other things. How many bedrooms that you use 20k on electricity per month.

I use to hear "inflation is coming down.

I do not see how it is coming down o.
N10,000 only gives me around 40kwh of electricity which lasts me for only 2weeks to power

•my AC for like 1hr daily
•Fridge is powered for around 10hrs
•Ceiling fan is powered for around 15hrs daily
•And 3 light bulb around for 7hrs.

I spend around 20k monthly on just light bill.
Light bill and rent alone cost around 55k per month, rent is 400k per year. it outrageous.

Where I live in Abeokuta I use an average of 10 to 30 Units per day and more than use 555 to 650 units per month in my apartment as I have multiple Air Conditioners (4 AC) to be exact plus I leave my Fridge and Freezers on 24/7. Plus I'm on band B so I can pay 10k and get 138 units, with my monthly bill around 45k per month but I get light of band A in my area, I mostly have around 20 hours of light every day, this is why I'm not coming back to lagos for a while, life is good over here grin

Them go soon upgrade u to bamd A, they are doing so currently

Om Band A u will dpend times 4

Band A specifies at least 20 hours a day of light, and usually it's almost the full 24. The catch is that you pay the proverbial arm and leg for it. I live in band A as well and as luck would have it, also have installed a pre-paid meter, that way, I can control power expense as much as I want.

Band A to Z Bandit Electricity Billing is one of the biggest frauds of this APC government. How people let this happen lying low is something I'll never understand. Your government is using discrimination to give you essential services and you people say no, it's private sector, it's disco and sisqo ahh

U are lucky,I am on band A but that isn't my problem,my expenses per month is close 1.2million naira.

It's if I am not making progress at all, just this first quarter of the year,I expended about #5,996,000. When I checked my expense book,it was like a dream honestly.

But sincerely speaking,If i had depended on my salary,I would have ran mad.

I am just wondering if those that are not working are feeling the heat of this istration, cos they seem not to be complaining like us.

My rent per month for a two bedroom apartment in Abuja here is #208,300. For a year it's #2,500,000.

House hold expenses wants to kill me oooh my country people.
how are you able to foot those outrageous bills if you are not making money?

What does your salary have to do with the cost of power? Based on your reason, a tuber of yam should cost N200, and a bag of beans 10k.

Why don't you urge the farmers to sell their products at a rate that is friendly to your pocket? Let them throw away the need to cover their costs of producing their crops and also make profit, so the consumers can be very, very happy.

Genco's and Disco's must cover their costs, or they fail. That is why the FG was owing 4 trillion to the Genco's, because power is sold below cost from Band B to E if I am correct.

When people complain, it's not because they hate the president, many of us aren't bothered about who occupies the presidency. Just make life bearable for us and we're good

Sure but it would kill the lifespan of the batteries, battwries that shpuld for 5 to 7 years stretch, would only go for 2 to 3years .so no need.

To those thinking I'm poor,I spent 6.5m installing g 5kva off grid with 20 s and 28 gel batteries. I bought sumec gen for 350k,I didn't use rhe gen more than 3 times before the carburettor spoilt because I abandoned it with fuel inside. Solar is the way. 24/7. Light

I spend 160k amonth to use AC on a 3 bedroom... 2 is what's mostly occupied

If u have the money , it's ok.. but if it affects ur finances.. remove them and use only the one in ur own room with ur wife.. let the children grow normal...

ND teach them power management.. like. In my house, we put on the deep freezer only at night.. and switch it off through out the day.. night like is guaranteed here
