I wanted to get my mum a small car last year.
Didn't have money for a tokunbo so I asked my brothers to help me surf jiji for any affordable car.
They showed me a Civic 08 and since I drive one myself, I felt it would be nice to match with my mum.

My brothers and a Kazeem went for inspection and they discovered the car had a few things to be fixed which made them slash the price from 2.4M that we initially agreed to #2,050,000.
This was in June last year.

They set out to drive the car down to my house before heading to my mum's but brethrens, since June last year till this very moment as I type this. The car has only been parked from one Kazeem shop to another, on some days it was left by the road side or a petrol station for days out of frustration. I have spent above 700k on it all to no fruition. It's been almost a year now and this car hasn't made me it my house yet talk more of sending it to my mum. I ed the guy and he said he had tried by slashing the price and that was all he could do. At some point, he stopped picking my brother's calls.
Please what advice can you give me?

Can I get him arrested or take legal measures against him at least? Or has this become my headache for life?
I need chunks of recommendations please.

Legal action for what? Didn't you agreed to buy the car willingly? Didn't you sign agreement you have bought a car from him? Is their any agreement that you will bring it back in certain period Incase the car bring problem from the one he told you, your brother and Kareem?

There was no written agreement on such but we called him one time to let him know the situation of the car and as well let him know we would be returning it.. He stopped taking calls ever since.

I was hoping money could revive the car reason I kept trying. Besides, he had stopped taking calls since September or so.

to be honest you are going to waste your time and resources arresting him, you will surely lose the case. Business is already been concluded, you willingly buy it , willingly paid for it despite detecting problem, willingly agreed to buy it, willingly take the car from him after paying, willingly collect all the documents that show you are now the new owner of the car not his . My advice for you re sell the car and add money to get another car for your mum. Shit happens time to time

The car was not sold under any form of Warranty or Guarantee so you have nothing legally against the Seller.

All you can do is appeal to his conscience to address your concerns about the car &or for him to help sell it to recover some of your money.

Make it make sense.
You want to arrest or take legal actions against someone who didn't coerce you into buying from him?Was the sales at gunpoint ni?

Just sell the car as scrap or find an unsuspecting victim.

I would rather let it rust to dust than sell this lemon to any unsuspecting person.

what exactly is the issue with the car Honda civic is one of the best car out there right now ......what I am suspecting is that your Kazeem is intentionally using you to make money Honda civic is not that difficult to fix even if you want to overhaul majority of the system of that car it still won't cost you much.......I am really interested in the issue you are having with the car

If you had asked questions when you bought it , there would have been free help in getting it fixed properly.

But since your mechanic was smart enough to get you deep in this rabbit hole of trial and error, it will be more difficu;t to start trying to fix when you have already exhausted so much money

While it was being driven to my place.
Overheating happened and it damaged the four coils.
There right there, I spent above 250k fixing radiator, automated dashboard, four coils, plugs, oil gauge stick, mobil oil, gasket and some stupid things.

They fixed it, and it worked for a few minutes till it broke down again and I had to change filter and fuel pump with some minor things because car won't move. After a while... it moved again then stopped. This time it was the kick but before they figured it out.
I learnt the roadside Kazeem had almost pieced the car in search of a fault that wasn't there.

While we were on this, I decided to replace the steering pump and rack because the steering had become stiff and so difficult to turn. This cost some fortunes.

Mind you, like play like play, this car had spent about 3 months at different locations. I got tired at this point and decided to leave it under bridge in Ojuelegba where I was asked to pay #400 per day but begged for #200. It was there from December till last month.

I was told it overheated again while moving from God knows where to Ojuelegba and I needed to replace the coils all again.
Let's no forget there were different electrical issues that I can't even list out because I don't even know what to call them.
But now, the gear is making one annoying and disturbing sound and they are asking for an arm and heart to fix it. It will be one year by next month and car hasn't made it to my house.
It can't even go beyond 25Km/h nor can it climb hills.
Very frustrating.

Questions when I bought it?
Did you read that I asked my brothers to go there with a Kazeem? Someone who charged me 40k before he could agree to follow my brothers for inspection.
Whoelse would I trust with the knowledge of a car?
I even learnt that when the Kazeem got there, he and the seller exchanged s for reasons I do not know. I'm thinking the seller settled him to convince my brothers to buy the car.

Na your Kazeem the main reason the car is given you issue, and that your brother is not a good brother . how did they drive the car sotey all the 4 coil pack up at once ......Omo I am feeling pity for you sincerely speaking. And for that car to have overheated twice to the extent it spoilt all the coil then that engine life cannot remain the same again.....Nawa oo

Whether it was written or not, it is still a contract. It is exactly like buying 50litres of fuel from NNPC and then you want to return 30 litres because you found out that it burns fast.

Sorry, you cannot get any remedy from them

See your mechanic is bad. He should have watched the needles when testing the car. That guy did not inspect the car at all if not all this faults would have been detected ..

Wait "road side mechanic"! You did not go with your mechanic to check the car?

You obviously just sent little brother who can drive to pick up the car and this became what you bought.

The mechanic I paid to go for inspection didn't even leave home with a single plier let alone anything more. I was told he started begging for spanners from a Vulcanizer the day this whole wahala started.
The road side Kazeems were the readily available mechanics closest to the various points of breakdown.

No other way to get anyone.
