That's exactly what people used to say to me too. I'm also a pig farmer, and I hearing the same discouraging words when I wanted to start. But here I am, over three years into it, and I'm not just surviving, I'm thriving.

So to you, the original poster (OP), don't let anyone's doubts or fears become your reality. People will always have something to say, especially when you're trying to do something different or new.

Believe in yourself, do whatever your mind says, do your research, stay consistent, pray about it and trust the process. Your success will speak louder than their opinions.

Forget all that, there’s no business without risks.
My only advice to the OP is this: find someone trustworthy who understands piggery well and can guide you on treatment, feed formulation, and the best breed to go for.

Even you with your 9 years of experience—didn't it all start somewhere and on a particular day?

I actually found it somewhat surprising to read about people seeing pork as a more affordable alternative to beef and chicken. I think it used to be more expensive than those when I was younger - recalling how older people like my mum treated it.

I went through ur business plan but the last part of the doc where you said one should bring 25m and get more than 250m in 3 years sounds too good to be true for only maize farming sir, perhaps I misread that.
