I married my wife in 2015 and the father collected just 60 naira from me. 50 naira plus 10 naira was what we paid.

That is the most important thing in marriage. Every other thing is not necessary

So he should be feeding the another person till thy kingdom come all in the name of marriage ? The way you ppl just say marriage as an institution to escape poverty is alarming.

Use your sense! My dress was ordered from China, I paid for canopies, rent a field and officially invited 300 guess.
But all those I mentioned are not important. I did because I wanted not because I could afford it. The most important is the bride price. Use your sense

That money won't even be enough to transport you and your people to go and see her parents.

But people with 200k salary will still marry now

In my opinion,

It depends on the bride and how lavish she wants the wedding to be.

For me, I would have preferred something low-key as not everyone you think is a friend is truly one.

Of course they do get married. In fact if you attend the wedding ceremony of a guy who earns 200k, you'd be shocked. You might doubt that he actually earns such amount.

Because he planned his wedding properly, using committee of friends, groups he belongs to, church donations...etc. With all these groups behind him, his wedding might be the talk of the town.

Remove your self from poverty before you go think say marriage is a program government set up for poverty eradication and empowerment of less disadvantaged women in the society.

Yes you can, but you need to have something already saved aside to settle weeding , bride price and bride items before marriage.

How much is your....
1) bride price plan?
2) weeding cost plan?
3) bride price items plan?

Let start from here
