All because of politics.”

Yet politics is the reason some of you may never see your cousins, friends, or loved ones again because they had to migrate just to survive.

Politics is why your kids might grow up without ever forming real relationships with their extended family because everyone is scattered across continents, chasing stability.

Politics is the reason some of you left a 15-year banking career, uprooted your family, and moved to the UK with a wife and two kids, and now the pressure of japa is quietly breaking your marriage.

Politics is why some of you are single to stupor, not because you’re not lovable, but because even love needs a stable environment to grow, and Nigeria of today offers none.

Politics is why Indomie, the supposed food of broke students, has become a luxury.

Politics is why we have have OS pandemic all over the place.

Politics is why you that is reading this tweet and about to defend atrocious policies of Bola Tinubu is doing so using anonymous handle. You are so impoverished you can't even do it with your real face coz you gotta survive.

Nigerian Politics is not just about elections or debates, it’s the reason behind broken homes, stalled dreams, distance, depression, and diaspora. The list is endless.

And yet, when people raise their voices, you say, “All because of politics?”

Yes. Exactly because of politics.

If you like defend tinibu from now till tomorrow,it will still not change the fact that tinibu government is the worst in history.

Minus the chicken change you make in your pay-per-post, you would have been in traffic jams begging for for food.

Keep defending rubbish.

Hmm...

There is a severe misalignment in the economic system of Nigeria.

The apc does not seem to understand the necessity of grassroot socio-economic development beyond pallatives and handouts.

The facade of prosperity declared by big companies that provide essential goods and services are more of a result of significant increases in prices of goods and services rather than an increase in the purchasing power of the masses, increase in sales of products, market expansion or introduction of new products to capture new markets/demographs.

For instance... the revenues of Cadbury, another multinational company in similar vein to Nestle, attributed its increase in revenues over the years in nigeria to have come from market expansion either by introducing new products, upgrading existing ones or entering new markets/sectors. These ed for about 70% of revenue increases while increase in the actual cost of the products ed for about 30% because there was relative stability and the purchasing power was comparatively high (when compared to what we have today).

But now, Cadbury's revenue, as for Nestle, is 100% as a result of the increase in the price of its products, in most cases, over 600% increase. While this has led to lower sales, the increase in prices is so much that it actually overcompensates for the lower sales.

https://punchng.com/manufacturers-record-n2tn-unsold-finished-goods/?amp

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/05/manufacturers-wail-as-unsold-goods-pile-up-in-warehouses/

Two critical examples will suffice...

First, estimated total sales of a particular product in 2014 was about 1m at N100 per piece giving N100m in sales revenue.

In 2024, that same product sold 600,000 pieces but at N500 per piece giving N300m in sales revenue.

So, while sales revenue has increased by 200%, actual sales have declined by 40%... that is not a good thing at all.

The second example has to do with the more obvious currency valuation and conversion rates. In 2014, that N100m was worth $500,000.

In 2024, that N300m was worth $187,000...

So while naira profit increased by 200%, dollar profit dropped by almost 300%... again, that is not a good sign and it certainly does not show true economic growth... and for a company that repatriates its revenues, it is going to read as declining profits at the head office abroad.

Finally, the bottom line is this, how has this translated to better socio-economic conditions for (1) the workers of those companies and thier dependents and (2) the general populace as a result of increased revenues (taxes) for the government?

The Warri refinery was a scam.
My very bosom friend works in the Refinery.
The refinery never worked.
Tinubu government played on the intelligence of NIGERIANS to cool down the tension then and took the advantage to loot again.
You can imagine with all these punishment and suffering Tinubu government have imposed on Nigerians, we still have a lot of people still praising Tinubu and singing a second tenure for the failed President.
I can't figure out how many Nigerians reason.
See how Nigeria have decayed in less than 3 years under Tinubu and people still sing praises to him.
For me, I am tired of advising Nigerians.
If you can, just find your way out of the country.
Allow them to continue to learn the hard way.
