helinues:They do have the locus standi. It is a question of interpretation of the Constitution and they do have the vires to file the suit. The SC can determine the case is academic since the Principal Relief is on the Rivers issue, that's the only way they can hide under it but Yes, they do have locus standi. |

fergie001: See the way you are hiding behind corners to prove the locus standing. Those AG of the Pdp states should go and rest. Is it not the same Fubara that might likely Apc |
BondRiv: 11:10pm On Apr 27 |
Stop blackmailing the justices. All through Fubara's lawlessness, you guys never said anything. NBA pocketed N300m, no comment. Spare us the hypocrisy.

fergie001: So because something involves the interpretation of the constitution, anyone can file anything in court? It doesn't work that way. We will see if they have locus standi. |

Hmm...helinus,ba haka bane o! Governors are seeking the interpretation of certain sections of the constitution in regards to declaration 📜 of state of emergency and they want to know where the president drives his power from to make such declaration. They want to know how he suddenly arrived at that decision without following through the processes, which is within their constitutional rights to seek to know as the chief executives of their various state, through their attorney generals. This is a constitutional issues,it's not as the way you are trying to paint it, by saying they lack "locus standi". Infact, by right, they have locus standi, because they can be next in line on the firing board. In regards the issues of river state, the president did not follow the processes for declaration of state of emergency and the Senate deeply messed up for using voice votes instead of the constitutional requirements which said it most be 🗳 balloted and 2/3 majority votes 🗳 most be made before the declaration can be legalised. And if I may asked, did the Senate formed a quorum before the sat to act on the letter of the president? See,helinus,no dynasties last forever, and it's pertinent to note that,APC can be in the opposition tomorrow, if this rape and mutilation of the constitution is allowed to stay, same thing would happen to them. The constitution is supreme, it's sacredness must be uphold. In a sane country, you can do anything but don't destroy the institution that gives you credibility and legitimacy. What's happening is a clear state of Political state capture. This has it's effects because the guys in the military are watching and you are giving them the ground to legitimately intervene, and you know what that potents to our democracy. 3 Likes |

Streetinvestor2:The constitution gives him the powers to do anything necessary to maintain law and order in case of SOE. It doesn't have to be explicitly stated. Everything must not be written down, it's not ABC. He can simply argue that suspending the Governor and HOA was necessary, as simple as that. |

Streetinvestor2: I like the idea of taking the matter to the Supreme Court so that they can do that legal abracadabra that they always do. They always find means to justify whatever APC does. Guess what, Bola Tinubu doesn't know he's setting a precedence. In other words, if someone from another tribe is the president and an EndSars protest happened at the Lekki toll plaza, he could suspend the Lagos governor and get someone from another state to become the . If anyone challenges the issue in the Supreme Court, the court will validate the president's decision based on what happened in Rivers in 2025. If agbadorians take to the streets to protest that decision, they'll be used by the military for shooting practice (like they always say it here). 5 Likes |

I love the word you used"personal moral values"...let's put sentiments, raciial and tribal differences apart...i see reasons with you here on this one but what could be the motive behind the temporary suspension of the duly elected governor and declaring state of emergency while other states are being ravaged by insecurities and senseless killings by herdsmen/bandits...irregardless of political parties or persons we ...let's learn to always criticise/condemn them for wrong/bad they do and also commend them for the good they do...they are representing us...but sadly enough tho...having read most of your comments...you're always on the defensive...even things that are despicable...and you say you're not been paid??...even if its 1million monthly...i believe we still have our God-given conscience...like I'll always say"May Nigeria not happen to anyone of us"

ezra1990: There have been peace in Rivers state since the Sole took over. Had Fubara and the state assembly not been suspended, there could have been bad insecurity lapses in Rivers state because the State assembly would have gone ahead to impeach Fubara, legitimately or illegitimately. Sending both of them packing is the best decision for the time being |
