You ban imports from the US in the guise of growing local production and expect them to accept your exports lol, who be mumu , where is the concept of free market? If the local products want to thrive then they should be innovative , why are local things in naija so expensive ? The Govt cannot keep helping farmers and producers , innovate or die

Is it impossible for Africa countries to trade among themselves instead of these embarrassments from America??

Africa is poor and population does not translate to market in economics...

Nigeria should simply reduce her tarrifs on US import to a single digit number below 5%

Very valid comment but unlikely to happen because we hate free market, privatisation and deregulation capitalism as that means we all have to work as commanded by God instead of waiting for some okanlawon in the family to make money (even by stealing) to dash us, or for the government to do palliative sharing of pseudo progressive socialists that run big governments with corresponding corruption.

Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

Intra African trade seems dead! Why don't we see made in Cameroon products or made in Togo or Ghana? There has to be things they're producing that they have competitive advantage compared to US. Why aren't African countries pro active in this pursuit?

International trade are not just for trade as it appears... Many time it has a political undertone...

You don’t have to be narrow minded, think wide and you will understand , everything is related, your president can not do same because we can’t do without American goods, look at the way china retaliate for instance, Trump can’t do that to Russia

But because we have failed to develop our country, we have to tolerate all sort of things including this

Read some books about global economics bro

When you were doing buy naija to grow naira while other Neigbouring countries were suffering, you didn’t know.
Now America is buying America to grow dollar..
If every country decide not to import, who will make profit?
See rice importation that they banned,we no see am chop again, even local one.
No country is totally self sufficient,we all need each other .

This same thing has started happening to US also. Prices of regular goods are skyrocketing in US, you will soon see their drug addicted citizens protesting violently, the last protest was peaceful, you will soon see very violent protests across US. Nobody is an island

The purchasing power of one US citizen is more than that of 100 randomly picked Nigerians put together. Get sense, this is 2025

Hell will not let loose if they don't export to the US. Find other countries to export to. It's that simple. Don't let US hold U into ransome. By the way, US population is not up to 400 million, how come every other nation is targeting US for their products?
