nairalanda1: nairalanda1: what is subsidy? how do subsidies on refined products prevent profits being made on refined products? if you say "oil money cannot fund subsides adequately", other oil producing countries that still subsidise fuel, where are they getting funds to subsidise fuel? according to you..."Now that subsidy has gone, there is a chance profits can be made". who is going to make the profit? how has subsidy prevented anyone from making profit? "A chance..." why are you not certain? why is it "a chance"? |

MARKETfund:where is the insult? Stop being delusional is rather an advice. Oil is still our major source of revenue, you cant wish that away. When our oil production dropped we all felt it.. projecting forward for more oil production is a wise thing to do. USA has the biggest oil reserves in the world which they use to manipulate global oil price. You think you are smarter than them? Moreso, we dont contribute to the global carbon footprint as much as the industrialized nations. Global warming, clean energy et al should be the least of our worries |

Eriokanmi:typical clownish behaviour. What percentage does Africa continent contribute to the carbon footprint? You are here comparing a country where hunger is a problem with countries that have solved that problem ages ago. You lots minor on majors and major on minors |

nairalanda1:oil is never going to become irrelevant. Even lithium has its dangers. Just go online and see different videos where lithium set up explode. Clean energy is not an African problem, we have big fishes to fry. Let industrialized countries that contribute more to global warming worry about that. Ours is to sell our oil and use the money to develop other sectors till we wont have to depend on oil anymore |

Can the continent stand stagnant and isolated when other nations and continents are moving forward to a better solution to the global health? AJSfan: 9:31am On Apr 19 |
Eriokanmi:lol when it comes to the energy sector, it is my field so i can school you. First you mistook oil production for oil consumption. We are producing oil to sell for money. It is that money is what runs the country, fund our budget etc. Russia is a develop country and mostly rely on their oil economy.. EU is still one of the biggest importer of oil globally, during winter they still rely on wood and gas for heat. Yet they are urging you to go for clean energy... the entire Africa continent only contribute 4% to global carbon footprint and SA and Egypt tops the chart. Lets stop crying more than the bereaved. |

AJSfan: That is our achilles heel, and why we must even more so focus on the no oil futute...and industrial growth and development. Don't believe me? Our baseline price for this year's budget was 75 dollars, and oil has fallen below that. Our fiscal breakeven oil price is way above 100 dollars per barrel. For a long time , we get into trobule when the oil price does not favour us, which is quite often |

Some people will tell you that Tinubu should not put Yorubas in strategic positions that will spur Nigeria's growth for the 1trillion dollar economy within 7 years when Yorubas have proven to be the only people with multi billion dollars firms abroad, the seemly most savvy people in business and development. The exponential growth and development of the South western region during regionalism should tell a few people against his appointments why he is doing this at this point in time. Pls,let Nigeria grow.God bless Nigerians. |
