I went to have a hair cut today at my usual barber's...

I was surprised to see people drinking, eating biscuits and groundnuts.

Then I saw a man who looked like he was in his 40's kneeling down and those that were eating were praying for him.

It didn't take long to add 1 plus 1.

I was more intrigued by the fact that this guy was too old to be learning barbing now. I mean, what was he doing 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 25 years ago?

I found time to chat with him in private.
He told me he dropped out of school over 15 years ago.

His parents were civil servants and tried their best to train him in school.

But he wasn't interested in school. He kept collecting school fees and house rent but didn't pay the fees, he used it.

He did that until the year he was supposed to graduate.

Long story short, his parents found out and told him he was on his own.

He decided he was going to start a business, but he needed capital. He ended up working as a private school teacher just to raise capital.

What he thought would last for a year or 2 turned into 7 years.

Yet, he was unable to raise even 200k in those 7 years. The money he earned was barely enough for feeding, transportation and rent.

His parents retired, and we're solely focused on raising his younger ones, so he had no one.

Relatives were disappointed in him so he had no one.

He quit the school and ed neolife thinking it was a better option.

He has been with neolife from that time till now before he decided to learn a skill.

According to him, neolife had it's good months and bad months and he couldn't control which month would be good or bad.

He decided to gather money monthly to buy some clippers, mirror, chairs, gen etc for his barbing shop.

He has saved his shop rent as fixed deposit on piggy bank.

Now he wants to use the next one year and learn the skill very well.

I was glad he didn't invest his money in cbex, but I just can't help but think that there is something better he could invest in other than barning.

Besides, how long will he barb and save money to marry and raise a family?

But I want to hear from u guys, is it too late for this middle aged man?

I am not sorry for the spoilt brat.

He blew his chance to make it and i must applaud the parents for kicking him out, I would have done the same.

How can parents labour , make sacrifices to make you a better human and then you tell them you are not interested? Most of us were not interested too but we obeyed and we are glad we did.

The civil servants would have used their connect to find him a better job anyhow anyhow but Charlie wan flex, he wan carry babes, he wan follow him dreams, he think say him go make am on him own.

Shout out to all correct parents jare. May God reward your sacrifices.

I felt this way too, but then I reasoned...

If I was as wealthy as davidos parents would I not send him to another school?

40 is too old because there are some profession that you can't be enlisted because of your age the time is gone. Nobody will enlist a 40 years old man in any Olympic tournament the season for your enlistment is gone. You start regretting life and you start seeing the real value of time you have wasted and wish to go back your teenage but it's gone. Except you're into business and it's not easy at 40 because you must fail to get knowledge about the business. Time is everything he who created earth program us here with time 24 hours for everyone wader rich or poor it depends what you spend time on will be your results in few years. God is not mock what so ever a man sow shall he also rip. It's quality of your investment that determine the outcome of your life.

It's not too late for anything so long as you don't let people's opinions be the principal determinant of what you do.

You can rewrite your story at any point in time, even 90 years.

There's a woman on IG... Went back to medical school at 40+... She's a doctor now at almost 50.

Imagine yourself as an 80 years old man, I bet that you will give anything to be 40 years younger.

Though one have to be realistic though.

If by starting again, he wants to be the world's fastest man like Usain Bolt, then there is an element of ''youth impediment''. Younger people have the metabolical chances to run faster.

But if it is to quit addiction, start a new job or open a business, build a house, start a family, live uprightly, etc, then yes, 40 is not old.

You have little or no idea about life⚠️

Yes God programmed time, earth and everything, but you forgot he programmed people's lives too!!! What made you a judge over someone else life? Are you his God?

I know may people non graduates that are doing well in life and many graduates that are suffering. Going to school is not a measure or a guarantee to good life my dear.

Yes i understand you're mad at him for doing what he did but that doesn't mean he's a failure or he wouldn't make it even after 40 years.

The only problem i think he has is he lacks proper guidance, he wouldn't have opened that shop if he's wise enough!!!!

Me i dropped out of school against my parents wish too, today I'm 32 years and I'm doing fantastically well abroad... infact some of my class mates back then beg me for money always.

This life is all about planning whether you go school or not, what is your plan b?? I knew school wasn't for me and i know Nigerians are sick people that judge people only by their certificate so i decided to leave on time.

In abroad nobody cares about your fucking degrees, or your age?? the white people only care about what you can do!!! What can you do? Can you do it well That's life in abroad for you.

Like i said, the man lack proper guidance or advice to life and that's the only problem i see he has here!!!🫠
