The Rivers State Government has debunked a viral statement claiming that the state's Sole , Retired Vice iral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy for an inquiry.

An official of the state government told our correspondent that the statement was fake, saying no such directive had been issued.

The statement, circulated on social media, falsely claimed that Governor Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, were to appear before the state over appointments made in the last two years.

The summons was signed by Ibiba Lucky Worika who's the secretary to the state government. Make of that what you wish because at this stage, the least we would expect is an investigation so that such foolishnèss won't happen again but we all know this is a face saving measure for fùcking up big time

Damage control taken to far. Ibas has no constitutional powers to summon a democratic governor though Sim Fubara was imposed by Wike on Rivers.
