DO I SEE THEM PERFORMING THE HAKA IN SOME OF THE PHOTOS!!! IF YES THEN HELLL NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

NOOOOOOO....Please DEVELOP YOUR OWN STYLE AND WAY FOR THE RUGBY GAME IN NIGERIA. THE NIGERIAN RUYGBY STYLE AND FLAIR AND TRADITIONS. DONT COPY THE MAORI TRADITION. PUT YOUR OWN UNIQUE WAYS INTO THE GAME.

THE RULES OF THE GAME REMAINS THE SAME BUT YOU SEE THE CEREMONIES AND OPENING ACTIVITIES AND SO ON.....PLEASE MAKE IT NIGERIAN!!! MAKE IT UNIQUE!!!

BRING OUT EGUNGUN IF POSSIBLE. grin grin

BRING OUT EYO ADAMU ORISA TO CLEANS THE FIELD IF YOU LIKE.

BUT MAKE IT NIGERIAN!!!!!

MAKE THE CULTURE AND CUSTOM AND NORMS OF THE GAME IN NIGERIA UNIQUE WITH ITS OWN UNIQUE ACTIVITIES.

TUNDE DELU .... PLEASE SEE THIS POST OF MINE. YOU ARE PROMOTING THIS SPORT IN NIGERIA AND I LOVE YOUR ION TO DO SO. BUT MAKE THE ENTIRE THING ''NIGERIANIZED'' APART FROM THE GLOBAL RULES OF THE GAME.

THE CEREMONIES AND NORMS SHOULD BE NIGERIAN, PLEASE.

NO COYPING OF MAORI TRADITIONS. NO COPYING. MAKE IT UNIQUELY NIGERIAN AND NIGERIAN UNIQUE. PLEASE.

God bless him for creating jobs in Nigeria. Rugby is a very good sport that can give money if well promoted.

With nothing to protect their head ?

This is risk 101 and seems very local. The organisers must bear the brunt if anything or injuriy happens to any of those players

Complex issues are the real problem of Nigerians. Have they ever seen Indians or Americans perform the Haka before a game starts?

Agreed!
But one step at a time.

Let the citizens begin to enjoy Rugby because they understand the rules and then it becomes easier when a team introduce Haka Ijebu Style and Another Haka, Igbo Style.

The last time I played Rugby was in my secondary school and that was some long time ago. Our own was more of a fusion of Rugby and American football(freestyle)

When a person has not fixed the basics and core issues but is gloating about peripherals in a misplaced priority existence, is this not what happens?

Does Ilorin/Kwara state have the basics of free education for all children, free basic healthcare for all residents, water supply to all buildings, mass transit, electricity 24/7 like the oyinbo places where rugby is played sustainably?

This Abeokuta initiative will also die like the Ilorin one of two decades ago, no doubt.

Yes true talk.

You are very correct. I thought so too. The game is still trying to begin teething in Nigeria. It needs to be embraced, and it will be fun seeing Nigeria as a rugby nation.

But knowing how Nigerians learn and adapt quickly to things, it is usually better to do certain things very early on. Otherwise, Nigerians embrace it and then it becomes difficult to change. This is my fear. The fear of copying what isn't ours and sticking with it. It is bad enough that the game itself isn't ours. No problems. I really do not mind. But the ''customs'' and ''practices'' , this should be Nigerian like you agreed.

I hope that eventually he would sit down with people who can design and develop these things to gather ideas as the game gathers acceptance.
