Wisdom for Destiny Daily Devotional (13th April 2025) By Sunday Akanni TOPIC: Run For Your Life; Escape To The Mountains! Scripture: Genesis 19:17 NKJV [17] So it came to , when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.” *Message* You should be familiar with the story of the destruction of sodom and gomorrah. The land was given to so much corruption and perversion, and they attracted the consequences of their actions - destruction! However, in the midst of the ongoing evil in the land, Lot and his family decided to turn their back to the societal trend of sinfulness and embrace the paths of God's righteousness despite all odds. For this purpose, when the time of destruction came, he received mercy for salvation, but with the instructions: "Run for your life; Escape to the mountains!" Today, we live in a very corrupt and perverted generation, whose sinfulness exceeds that of sodom and gomorrah. One thing is certain, this current earth must be purged of its sinfulness, and evil people (dead or alive) must reap the painful rewards of their evil. It is on this note that the word of God is preaching to you, to: "Run for your life; Escape to the mountains!" Come out from the sinfulness of this generation, and escape to the Rock of Ages - Jesus Christ the Son of God. Embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior and shun all forms of sinfulness. By so doing, you will be saved. 2 Corinthians 6:17 - "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." *Prayer* Dear LORD, draw me closer to you.
