I condemn those involved in drug trafficking and those taking it, but the media has portrayed it as if Igbos are the only tribe in Nigeria engaged in drug trafficking. There are numerous drug cases daily, yet when Igbo names are involved, the media sensationalizes them, perpetuating the stereotype that all hardworking and law-abiding Igbos are drug dealers. Notably, in 2018 and 2019, the Northwest led in drug trafficking, while from 2023 to 2025, the Southwest has taken the lead. It is essential to acknowledge that drug trafficking encomes more than just cocaine trafficking, and various tribes are involved in illicit drug trafficking and abuse, with some dominating more than Igbos.

LegendHero, you alleged that Anambra state leads in drug trafficking, presumably due to its high concentration of affluent individuals per square meter, implying that they are all involved in drug trafficking. I understand that your statement may stem from jealousy towards the state's prosperity, which you attribute to tribal characteristics. However, it is essential to rely on verifiable evidence rather than assumptions.

What many uninformed individuals like yourself may not be aware of is that illicit drugs encom more than just cocaine, which your community also has a significant presence in; there are other illicit drugs that your region dominates locally.

Ok I understand you now, all the nmpurumiri your people are consuming is not drugs grin

Criminality especially drug running knows no bounds( sex, ethnicity, religion, geographical divide ). It depends on who is caught and where.

Those arrested have been identified as Ugwu Ikechukwu alias Emma and Chukwu Ogbonna alias Big Joe - both Nigerian citizens residing in Hyderabad and allegedly involved in drug distribution - and Mohd Mateen Siddiqui, a money transfer agent based in the city.

Police have also identified several others who are currently absconding. These include Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna, Syed Sohail Abdul Aziz, Syed Naseer Ahmed, Mohd Awaiz, Mohd Mateen, Syed Yousuf Haq, Anand Jain, Shantilal Suresh Kumar Jain, and Uttam Jain.

And you have seen the statistics that show your tribe is leading, the fact that our leaders are fighting it and exposing them, while you are covering it up, similar to the ritual killings, you saw how Governor Soludo initiated a new law and fought it, and now crime has reduced to almost zero, while your leaders are still perpetuating the issue.

My tribe? You think everything is by tribe that's why you people are so retrogresive in actions and thoughts.

You don't even know what tribe I belong too.

Even if you are not from their, Southeast region which is still below your region, you can only express disdain but cannot impede their progress despite your smear campaign efforts.

The nature of conspiracy against the Igbos in this nation is out of this world.
I mean where is all the noise about drugs peddling and usage emanate from.
You see crime? It cut cross all ethnicity, it's an individual thing, see Statistics nah.

Most of the drug barons arrested in Lagos are mostly from the East. Even overseas. A Thai police man was said the Igbos are the curse of Nigeria because of their consistent involvement in drugs. Irrespective of that, there are so many legitimate Igbo business men and women. There are bad tribes too that do worst than drugs. We must put aside tribal sentiments and condemn whatever is bad

Read my previous comment. I personally think we should not be linking drugs to a particular tribe. All tribes in Nigeria are into drugs. We should just condemn whatever is bad instead of trying to paint one tribe bad. Most of the people doing killings for rituals are often Yorubas but it doesn't mean that they are all bad. There are still plenty good ones. Same with the Igbos. The rate of drugs in the North is even higher but the media usually under report what's happening over there. Let's all say no to drugs irrespective of our tribes

Drug use is different from drug dealing. The South-West and South-South has the highest number of drug s (Addicts) according to Marwa but while the South-East and South-West take the cake for drug dealing.
Walahi i find it difficult to accept that the South-South has more drug s than just Kano and Jigawa combined not to talk of the entire North-West and North-East.

Exactly. These never-do-well & natural-born criminals have infiltrated our lands and must be chased back to their landlocked region across the Niger where they worship cocaine-traffickers and reward them with chieftaincy titles.
