The plaintiffs have the right to seek the interpretation of Section 305 of the Constitution.
We await the SC judgement on it .

Women are becoming more corrupt than men these days, so I don’t expect anything good to come from the courts headed by a woman

This case is a forgone conclusion.
Since Fubara who is the main concerned party is not involved in this suit it is dead on arrival.
These governors will be termed meddlesome interlopers that lack jurisdiction by the Supreme court. It is a foregone conclusion.

I’m sure the chief justice of the Supreme Court don’t want to lose her job 😂.. watch how they will postpone the court ruling till 2 years . I’m baffled at how a 6 months military ruling can start canceling pocurement and appointments

How's the SOE benefitting you as a person? I want to know your basis for ing this executive rascality. It will happen in your state someday probably by Fulani president. This is how boko Haram was created. Keep ing rubbish. A governor can't criticize president or be in opposition with this kind of moves. Anyway anything that destroys the ZOO is good.

The same SC did not see FG as meddlesome interlopers in LG matters that are not within their purview

This SC has already shown itself willing to chook mouth even in matters that are not before it so they have no place to hide now except inside a farm of agbado
They seem to currently exist to do Tinubu’s bidding. So, I won’t be surprised with whatever they do.

Can the Supreme Court show courage and salvage herself or would they dismiss the suit on preliminary objections as they did under Obasanjo?

FG lawyers could argue that the governors are meddlesome interlopers as none of their states was affected by a State of Emergency declaration.

We will be watching.

Why did the 33 senators from the 11 PDP states in this court case, not have the courage to vote against the SOE action on the floor of the Senate? Why did the representatives from the 11 states not vote against the action?

Supreme Court should trade cautiously in interpreting the law as regards this case, because in near future this judgement will be a point of reference when Lagos will be targeted for state of emergency

Exercise in futility. They lack the locus standi to institute the case. Can't Sim Fubara challenge the state of emergency by himself? Why waiting for meddlesome interlopers and outsiders like the PDP governors to do your dirty work?

It's a master stroke, he can only challenge it from the high court, government will seek adjournment that it can take more than one and half months for it to get to supreme Court. Its better they utilize the two months option at the supreme Court before utilizing the 18 months option that involves Fubara bringing it to the high court because he doesn't have the locus to institute q case at the supreme Court.

Fubara is not a plaintiff in the suit. So, what reliefs are they seeking that will help restore him back to office?

The governors are meddlesome interlopers who seems to be idle in their respective states. They lack the locus stadi to institute the case and the SC will rightly throw the suit away.

No, they Governors are concerned parties because Governor Fubara contested and was sponsored by their party, PDP.

Only God knows what happens at the Senate Executive session that makes them capitulate every time they enter there.

The opposition lawmakers have the numbers to have given Tinubu tough time but they surprisingly turned to oh yes .

A party that sponsored a governor to win an election in a governorship election in a state is a meddlesome interloper?
Tinubu can wake up tomorrow and do the same thing in their respective states!

The governors very smart here. They were not specific to Rivers state. The governors asked the supreme court to only interpret section 305 of the constitution and they never mentioned Rivers state. If the governors mentioned Rivers state, the SC will say they are meddlesome interlopers.

They have right to institute the suit. They are merely seeking interpretations of the constitution. If they do not seek such interpretation, the President might just wake up one morning and declare a state of emergency in another opposition led State.

So it is not a matter of meddlesome interloper.

Sim cannot do so.. He is not in office. He would have if he was still the Governor.

Some of us seem to underestimate or ignore the place of "technicalities" in law.

Technicalities are an integral part of law!

Before proceeding to court, one must ensure that all loopholes are firmly blocked in other to prevent the issue of technicalities.

This so because you can't build something on nothing.

The issue of "locus standi" is also another loophole that could be exploited by the defendant to quash a case.

A basic knowledge of law is therefore very important in other for one not to fall prey to ignorance.

The question therefore is: do the PDP Governors have locus standi in this matter?

If the SC eventually decides against them, they would go to town accusing it of bias while calling the judges unprintable names.
