The Chairman Senate Committee on Southeast Development Commission, SEDC, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has performed exceptionally well for the good people of Abia North Senatorial District in virtually all the areas of Legislative representation.

Kalu who came to the Senate in 2019 and was re-elected by his people in 2023 has taken Legislative representation to another dimension which was previously opaque to the people. He has exemplified excellent leadership to his constituents by holding on to the core service by making the lives of his people better than he met it.

Kalu in his second term as the Senator representing Abia North has attracted over 130+ standard roads (2-3km each) with good drainage systems. He has rebuilt more than 80 secondary and primary school building across Abia North and has also distributed STEM educational materials to pupils and students in Abia North. He has sponsored quality Bills (12) and Motions (3) which saw him ranked second by the Policy, Legal Advocacy Center, PLAC.

As a leader who believes in the transformative impact of education in the lives of youths, Sen. Kalu has sponsored Nigerian youths to study courses of their choice on fully funded scholarship in Ivy universities across the globe, while some have been sponsored to go for 3-4 weeks courses in China to study Business, E-Market and Fossil Fuel Combustion and Technology, etc. These youths will in the future return to Nigeria to replicate their technical know-how in diverse sectors of the economy thereby contributing to national growth, creating jobs and improving our Gross Domestic Product, GDP.

Abia North is indeed lucky to have a trailblazer like Sen. Kalu representing them at the Hallowed Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
