£2000 in London is like a drop in the ocean. Lets make a breakdown of expenses. Let say you are considering a shared room of maybe £600 monthly, utility bill of £100 per month. Expenses of let say grocery of £200 with £100 for transportation monthly. That is a total of £1100 a month. Back to Nigeria, 500k naira depends on the region and area. 500k in northern state like Zamfara or Sokoto will last you a year. 2 Likes |

fullclub: 500k can't give u a quality life in today's Nigeria, even if u are living in Northern state. House rent, school fees for private school because of the uselessness of public school, feeding, fueling ur generator for few hours power supply at night, etc. Let's pray that U don't encounter any serious health challenge that will take U to hospital. Meanwhile, after all that, u will still be living in fear because of high insecurity in the country. I will choose 2k in London, for the sake of my sanity, access to quality health care, and the future of my kids. 6 Likes |

Henix: Okay let me share my plan on how I will spend my own 500k For health issue , I will buy AXA Mansard health package for 60k per month even with in UK for you to see a specialist wating the wrong with you might have kill you.... Feeding is around 150k per month and saving 100k for house rent and Nepa in a rural area compare to paying 900£ per month for house rent and additional 300£ for utilities in London and waiting for appointment when you are sick which is not so in Nigeria .... Let me just stop here |

fullclub:Wow can 500k sustain a better life for you with no responsibility at this economy. Use the corper as a case study, rent, Uber, food, utility in a month. You provide all the basin amenities for yourself without the govt present.. In abroad the government does that and the cash is just for your basin... Gosh think and have sense |
fullclub: 10:02pm On Apr 06 |
Samajogs: No in abroad you pay for these amenities... Water, light, car road tax, car insurance. Government don't provide it for you free That said. What about a breakdown like. A quarter bag of rice 25k to 30k Two paint of beans =20k Gari one paint = 3k Yam = 10k Oil, magi, salt =10k Transport to work = 30k in a month. Data = 20k Budget probably 200k max to cover this which include power You get 300k.. House rent 400k per year. Or 34k per month. You could still get savings of 250k 1 Like |

Henix: In place like Zamfara where accommodation is cheap, you can get a good selfcon for 100k per year. Groceries expenses of maybe 25k per month Utility payment of light bill of 10k per year Transport of 4k per month Let calculate: Accommodation: 100,000 Naira per year Groceries: 25,000 Naira per month x12 months = 300,000 Naira per year Utilities (light bill): 10,000 Naira per year Transport: 4,000 Naira per month × 12 months = 48,000 Naira per year 100,000+300,000+10,000+48,000=458,000 a year. 1 Like |

Why even compare? |

Quoting piggyvest ..the average statistic of those who earn 500k in Nigeria last year was 6% (according to respondents of their experiment's sample size) ... Except it's for personal measure of change in lifestyle after u migrate based on what u believe is obtainable when u get to u.k , barring that measuring 6% lifestyle (500k) to 40% lifestyle in the u.k (2k pounds) is not a good measure of ease of life in my opinion. U must feed the goose that lays the golden egg. In our case the goose need to go on a diet. Cos there's only sheet no meat , no egg. Sorry its coming late. fullclub: |

2k in London please. Me that like to order foods from different countries on ubereats, have neighbours from all part of the world, and dont like generator noise, or Naija sun that for all intent and purposes, is determined to roast me to death. If no be my woman wey like comfort, I can live in a room and have my peace. There should just be light and internet. But since my woman like comfort, then that 2k will give me same lifestyle in places like rural Poland, or Russia. Or Rwanda. 2 Likes |
