A number of AGMs to EDs proceeded on the japa move as well o! The finances wasn't adding up for many of them again especially relating to payment of undergraduate school fees and cost of living for their wards in the abroad.

Those who didn't japa had to bring their wards back to the country to try out at private universities. For some of them, they had become too expensive for the financial institutions to manage and cost had to be cut.

The sector is still yet to recover from the whole thing starting from the Covid-19 experience.
Some soster departments are yet to recover from the gbagaun of 2021-2024 in my former bank

The HR team still keeps in touch with some via LinkedIn
But who will leave "soft life" and go back to "everyday bp" work

Simple migration last year
GTBank almost ruined the lives of millions of nigerians
Well...
everybody go dey aii

Another stupid policy from an idiotic leadership
When the banks bore the brunt of their recklessness, did the FG give them tax rebates ?

Now they have made money because they were smart enough to hedge, using but not limited to Derivative instruments
Now you want 50% of it

When they call them animals and dummies now, people will complain

Manufacturing sector that have borne a lot of pain due to the FG, what tax rebate were they given ?

To balance it, some Profs in naija are also billionaires o through research grants and consultancies
That na thr side hustle. You sabi say they just corner the grants and no do any meaningful research. We sabi thr research na copy and paste or assignment given to master students. They now compile it as research.

So what then is the "native intelligence" so fondly spoken of ?

Native Intelligence should be a combination of Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence. Leading people and organizations to deliver results successfully is not directly related to one's IQ but rather to one's Emotional Intelligence & Social Intelligence. It's also worth noting that having high IQ doesn't automatically mean one is gifted with a high EI or SI

Below are some definitions from Meta AI to help in getting a better view of the definitions of IQ, EI and SI so as not to mix them all up as the same thing.

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a score derived from standardized tests designed to measure human intelligence, particularly cognitive abilities such as reasoning, problem-solving, and thinking.

Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to recognize and understand emotions in oneself and others, and to use this awareness to guide thought and behavior, enabling effective relationships and decision-making.

Social intelligence refers to the ability to effectively navigate and negotiate complex social relationships and environments. It's a multifaceted construct that involves several key components, including social awareness, social cognition, social skills and behavior, and empathy and perspective-taking.¹

Think of social intelligence like a Swiss Army knife of social skills, with each tool serving a specific purpose. It's what allows us to understand others' motivations, empathize with their feelings, and respond appropriately in various social contexts.

In essence, social intelligence is about being able to read the room, understand the unspoken rules and expectations, and adapt your behavior to different social situations. It's a vital skill that can make all the difference in our personal and professional lives.² ³

To me the best to have is social intelligence.

People like Sabinus, Whizkid, Davido, Osimehn, Taooma, Don Jazzy, Nathaniel Bassey, Omoni Oboli, Funke Akindele did they need hi IQ to be at the level they are in life? Let me even add Pastor Adeboye, Oyedepo, Sam Adeyemi, Jerry Eze, ..... the list is endless

These people i mentioned and their likes have been able to make a difference in the world and global scene.

What I am saying is as you point a finger at them the remaining 4 finger points to failed successive government of the country. The corruption was destroying the economy gradually and they devised a means to survive..In my very own eye my dad drove pick up,504 and 505 all brand new. What to eat was never seen as concern. Then I watched a video a lecturer lamenting how to survive is so difficult. That a Prof goes home with less than 400 dollars a month
Then I watched another video whr a senator goes with 29 million and they still say it is not enough.

You're making too much noise these days on an open forum. So, is feeding oneself now considered an achievement? What exactly do you do? And no, this is no longer a personal question compared to everything you've already disclosed.

Even Pa Emma, who owns three schools and multiple properties around Lagos, doesn’t make this much noise. You might be surprised to learn that the experiences you claim to have had growing up are actually average compared to some people here. If we start sharing our childhood stories, you’ll be forced to calm down.

Speaks more to the dysfunction of Nigeria 🇳🇬 that the very bright ones (allegedly) do not go far

Social intelligence is good, very good
Knowing how to build relationships et al is very valuable

But when the dregs and the lowlives are the ones using guile masked as Social intelligence to get ahead, it is a symptom of a sick country

But you guys were the ones calling him out and making comments that sounded strange.

Someone said his one month salary would feed Streetinvestor for a whole year. The person needed to be put in his place.
Same for people that leave nigeria and start seeing Nigerians as dumb.

You said importers were to be blamed?

You fail to see they thrived on the failure of the government to provide solutions.

So people that import generators, solar power are destroying the country? Nigerians should wait for the governemnt to provide 24 hours power supply?

Importers thrive when there is a gap to be filled. Nature abhors vacuum.

If the textile industry were producing high quality products at affordable rates, the importers will go out of market and would not have a bussiness to do.

Same applies in all industries.

Did it occur to you that (as i have mentioned before )

Millions IN Nigeria actually hold this view
Very smart and upwardly mobile professionals who are level headed?
Some may not be bold enough to openly voice it, but trust me, thats the feeling

And second
Those who left the shores of the country AND have that view have always had that view EVEN BEFORE leaving the country

Nigeria is a perfect society.

You mean Donald Trump is the brighest American? Or Rusha Sunik was the brighest British?

Everything you describe happening in Nigeria, occurs in the western world too.

Donald Trumo is a moronn
A crook who leveraged on racism to grab power and have shown wanton incompetence since then.
But judges and even his own party is calling his bluff on a lot of things

To have a trifecta and still having problems confirming nominees, budget , etc shows incompetence,

He has not presented even one bill because he knows the bill will fail and he will be disgraced, do he is g EO left and right which are now being challenged in couet, but that is aside

Rishi Sunak was a good PM on a bad party and in a bad situation
As much as I voted for Labour and Starmer last July, I still respect Sunak. for saving this country after another mugu (Truss) almost sank it....

She did not even last two months and was driven away

Apparently America has been captured by self destructive cowboys and it will be left to see what happens

But Nigeria
Akpabio is saying Tinubu second term is "assured" in an election that is still 2 years away

See Aiico wey some people put better money in the hope of mega returns. E just dey mess up and down since that year.
Same with Caverton.
Those two stocks single handedly sent one of our ogas away from this forum
NSE go just dey humble us.
Personally, I think AIICO management needs to be scrutinized. AIICO is official insurer to at least 3 Nigerian airlines. I can't count how many times I have paid N3,000 for their insurance when travelling through Arik, ValueJet, and is it Ibom or Air Peace. Not to talk of revenues from other sources. With better management, AIICO will churn out better result, while the stock price is supposed to be trading around N4.

So you see?

My brother, i expect that since you have lived in both Nigeria and the West, you would see Nigeria problem is not the people are dumb. There is something more deeper, if you look well, you will see it.

Nigeria is a great country filled with great hard working and smart people.

It does not pay to run our fellow citizens down no matter our achievements in life or anywhere we find ourselves.

There is crime in the West, even the police take bribe over there. scammers full ground. Everything you can find in Nigeria, you will find there when it comes to people but ........

It seems like you speak emotionally. I made my point very clear—people will hustle in whatever way they see fit, but that doesn’t change the fact that their actions can harm the country. When you import everything, you export labor and revenue to other countries. If you don’t understand this, simply ask for clarification.

Then he started telling me about his dad’s clubbing habits and the many cars he owned throughout his life. Does that seem relevant to you? Or are you so blinded by emotions that you can't think rationally?

Goes to show that a tout is a tout
no matter where he or she is based

Once you grew up and were socialised in typical Nigerian dysfunction, you are already ruined
no matter where you move to

That's why Nigerians were arguing in our NIUK group that a driver license has more value than a masters degree
Or that eating smelly poundo and soup in public transport that is mostly enclosed is justified

Or how they rush to enter bus here instead of queueing

A socialised riff raff is a socialised riff raff

There is success with morals and ethics and there is success without morals and ethics. In fact the Novel God father coined behind every great success fortune there is a crime. For success in ventures that require dealing with people high IQ is not a yard stick for vetting who will be successful. Big businesses are led by people with high EI and SI.

I think some are mixing moral decay and poor ethics with IQ here. People should look up what the IQ construct means. Or perhaps they don't care to know the definition of IQ and just use the abbreviation loosely to cover all forms of intelligence.
