He's reminding Canadians about the realities of today. The priorities of USA has changed and all countries need to make the required changes to continue to thrive. The European Union , China, India, Africa and Asian countries are making adjustments with plans to move some production into USA. USA has also stopped funding WTO and USAID. Countries like Nigeria that imports cars from USA will likely see car prices go up

You might not like Trump but he isn't totally wrong here. America has a trade deficit in the auto industry with Canada and Europe. More cars come in from Canada to America. The trade deficit is much. Cars worth over 290bn dollars are shipped into the US while cars worth over 140bn dollars are shipped out of the US. That's what Trump is trying to balance. I don't dispute the fact that he sometimes acts like an idiot though.
