I have instructed the Provost to withdraw the letter because we do not want to victimise the student and I have also reached out to the student in question and she has confirmed to me that the letter was withdrawn yesterday night so I want the public to be aware
(Delta State Commissioner for Health - Joseph Onojaeme)

PUBLIC NOTICE: The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, has directed the immediate withdrawal of the query issued to Nursing Student Osato Edobor by the Provost of the School of Nursing Sciences, Agbor.

This decision by the Commissioner for Health stems from a commitment to ensuring that the rights of every student in health sciences and related health programmes are upheld, this way, fostering a conducive learning environment for their academic excellence.

It is highly disrespectful to abuse people in power. We need to show respect for constituted Authority. The lady should be expelled and sentenced to hard prison time to serve as a detterent for others

This is very good and commendable action by the commissioner.

The students’ reaction was not just sarcasm; it was a direct reflection of their frustrations with a system that has failed them. Instead of addressing these grievances, the institution is choosing to silence and punish them, proving once again that dissent is intolerable in spaces that should encourage free thought. Why should students be compelled to chant allegiance to someone they do not recognize as their "mother"? Respect and validation are earned through actions, not forced through scripted praise. If leadership seeks validation, let it come from policies that alleviate suffering, not from staged events demanding robotic responses.

Good. However, the first lady deserves respect. She hasn't done a thing bad.
bot101:
Explain in clear how they disrespected her. Is it by force to be someone’s child? They don’t want her “motherness”, and clearly you, her, and the MC do not want to respect their wishes, but she’s the one that deserves respect right?
I think I understand your view. You're right. I concede the MC has a bulk of the faults. He should have carefully filtered his delivery that day.

That said, the current first lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu, has been steadfast. I'm not sure she's done any serious bad. She seems to be the most active we've in fact had in recent times. Sge encourages agriculture and has been doing some positive things. Going there to donate 10000 nursing equipment is a good gesture. Not sure Aishat Buhari did anything close except to dangle her glasses, bangles and beauty online.

It's just transferred aggression Remi is getting.

Remi Tinubu is Itshekiri from the same Delta state there but the gen-z yippies refused to be proud of her. There is a lesson in this.

Power must learn that it cannot always control narratives. It cannot force people to accept leaders they do not recognise. Respect is earned. Allegiance is a choice. This should a message.

The person who gave that query is an idiot. The nurses have the right to accept her as their mother or not.

There is absolutely no reason for this to even be discussed. You can't force people to sing a strange song.

APC ers may be used to singing such songs, but you know what they say happens immediately you APC.

Please can you explain how the students disrespected her? You sounds like a sheep.

Tinubu's wife is not their mother. It is common sense if not that people in power are narcissistic, what does she needs a praise/hype song for?

This is a learning environment. Go in there perform whatever official tasks you have come to do and leave respectfully.

Not after keeping the students who should have been studying waiting, you also wanted them to sing you a praise just to massage her narcissistic ego. She got what she deserved.

They paraded Goodluck Jonathan’s coffin in Lagos while Remi Tinubu was a federal senator representing the state.

Heaven didn’t fall.
No one was arrested, queried, or expelled.

Yet today, those who orchestrated worse under Jonathan cannot stomach even mild criticism.

Other Malicious Attacks on Goodluck Jonathan That He Tolerated Calmly:
1. Fuel Subsidy Protests (Occupy Nigeria, 2012) – Massive protests against his fuel subsidy removal, many led by those now benefiting from the same subsidy removal today.
2. Being Called Clueless – The opposition ran a relentless campaign branding him as weak and incompetent, despite his democratic tolerance.
3. Boko Haram Insurgency Used as a Political Weapon – The same security lapses happening today were once weaponized to delegitimize his government.
4. Chibok Girls Abduction (2014) – The #BringBackOurGirls movement was heavily politicized, yet he didn’t crack down on activists.

5. Harassment by the Media – Channels, AIT, Sahara Reporters, and many others constantly demonized him, yet no media house was shut down.
6. Disrespect from Religious Leaders – Many pastors and imams openly mocked him, yet he never used security agencies to suppress them.
7. Defection of Key PDP to APC – Five sitting governors and several lawmakers defected, yet he did not weaponize institutions to fight them.
8. Vandalization of his Billboards and Campaign Materials – His posters were ripped apart nationwide, and APC ers burned PDP flags.
9. Verbal Attacks from Tinubu and APC Leaders – Bola Tinubu himself repeatedly called him unfit to rule, yet Jonathan did not retaliate.
10. Election Loss and Power Transition – Despite pressure to contest the results, Jonathan called Buhari to concede defeat, ensuring a smooth transition—something unheard of in African politics.

Jonathan endured mockery, sabotage, and betrayal, yet never resorted to oppression. Now, those who built their careers on insulting him cannot handle the slightest criticism.
