Same as ETRANZACT, there's a huge number of buyers lined up, but no sellers in sight.
890K+ units in bid demand but just one tiny offer of 923 shares, and it’s sitting way above current bids.
...Wide spreads, poor execution, & slow trade

Interesting. Sellers are keeping UBA price beaten down despite the fantastic Earnings and dividends. Well that's how they sold it down to N3 some years back, resisted it rising above N7 also some years back. This market shocked

Ellahlakes sellers selling steadily. Perhaps mngt and staff paid in shares are booking some money into their pockets. Loaded more yesterday and today. Pray they succeed in the Oil Palm business.

Seeing Chinese BYD news - It beating Tesla in 2024 sales. And watching and reading up on BYD some time back and how they are poised to grow massively in the coming years. It's worth noting Warren bought $230 million worth of BYD in 2008 and that his investment is worth $5.5 billion today. That's more than x20 returns.

As you no see buy, seems something is happening in STI, maybe new investor or institutional investor(s) taking position.....

Last week, close to N2bn in cross deals....
Today, another 600M units crossed....

** Just observation.......and I think I mentioned this STI sometimes ago too.....
Not any form of advice anyway....cos I don't know what's happening inside. DD applies**

* Anyone with info on the buyer should pls share.....NGX ought to declare this at least.

Sis Mercy, I have a concern about Afripud and UCAP, most especially Afripud, is this a good time to buy? What is the reason for the sharp decline in their share price?
Please advise πŸ™

* UCAP declared dividend + bonus of 2:1 (2 new for every 1 held) and had since been added to individual's CSCS .
This was what reflected in the share price.
** your broker to add it to your trading portfolio.

* AFRIPRUD recently declared dividend of 0.60k + bonus of 1:1 (1 new for every 1 held)
Qualification date was last week Friday and was marked down this week.
That was why the share price came to current price.
** Bonus and dividend yet to be paid.

It will be nice to see why he invested in BYD.

Sold something and bought just a little more UBA. Could not resist the N37 that has a N3 dividend attached. Also knowing the last rights which I didn't take was done at N35. A nice point I hope,

Access is definitely a good buy at this price. The worst case scenario is that they will declare N1.50k dividend. There is good hope of capital appreciation. Will have to load more before the result hit the market. grin

The baddest bargain hunter is back.

Once a bargain hunter, always a bargain hunter.
I recall how great champions e.g. Mohammed Ali, George Foreman, Tyson etc. came out of retirement because of the mullah!
You made similar calls on other stocks and all turned out positive

What is happening to Access looks similar to what happened to GT about 2 - 3 years ago when it was selling at N17

You did not factor transaction fees(on sold and purchase) for the new purchase, though your name will be in the in T+3 days while RI at no transaction fee but may not qualify for the dividend.
I may not be correct in my assumptions.

Only the truly brave see diluted bank shares as a "bargain" as interest rates fall.

Who wants to volunteer to catch a falling knife?

That's a defendable argument
But let me present a counter

When a company makes say x billion naira this year
they can either pay out some in dividend, or reinvest into capital expansion that will increase the value of the firm long term....

If the dividend is paid out now, it is paid out as present value, t
And the investor can do what they like with the proceeds

However, if they go for capital expansion
and truly the value of the firm rises in 5 years
Using the last three years as a reference, inflation AND devaluation at that rate has "rendered useless" any capital gain over 5 years , making the argument that it was better to pay out the cash at period t, and t +1 when the naira still had more value values

Hmmmmm , If you have to wait for 5 years for capital appreciation to hedge devaluation and inflation in the nse , you might be better of in fixed income or other stuffs then

That's the typical long term horizon
5 years
is it not better to take cash upfront at present value

than to reinvest in an uncertain environment and is also facing twin demons ?

I million naira proceed in 2021
1 million naira proceer today

there is a huge huge gulf

There are better alternatives in the fixed income space then , why take the risk of nse just for dividend if capital appreciation is not a driving factor if you are considering hedging those two forces

Fixed income like bonds...
Well, not exactly
it's periodic
