No we can’t and never bury the home based talk if our foreign based players can’t win matches at home. Far from it, we keep using the excuse of how poor our league is to justify the invitation of foreign based players who we keep shifting the time of our matches at home to 5pm or 6pm so they can cope with our weather and still they can’t carry their legs to get us 3 points. It’s a mess but let’s continue to live in denial sha
It's you living in denial with this home based/foreign based something.

Spirit, grit and quality is not a local or foreign something. Stop the oversimplification

Oya, name 5 home based players you will call up to the team for the next round of games.... If you are so sure that the home based players will do better, you must have some knowledge of some good players in the league that can be called up...

Lol

Its now those that can't best the clubs i called that will step onto the pitch with their lack of technical abilities and become Marvel and DC Avengers or Team Avatar Aang and bend every element till they grab the ticket??

Name one club in NPFL that can convincingly beat Mamelodi Sundowns home and away or get 4points in a 2 legged affair in the here and now. Pls do.

You have a set of tech guys having problems and you feel just cos this ones are in computer school they'll outperform the tech guys with international ability? Dey play.

It is not an excuse. They have half a dozen tournaments to prove themselves home and abroad and they failed.

That's who you want to hand over the job to?

You want to build a house but its unprofessional builders you want to give the job to.

This is not Afcon o. WCQ. Substandard building and e go collapse and you go dey dia to complain .

Let them do the needful back home and in caf competition.

Pls, i need a club or two that can beat Mamelodi Sundowns in a caf club competition.

Calling Iwobi subpar one thousand times, while failing to provide any player up to your preferred par to rival him, will never be anything short of amusing

Iwobi is not the reason why your defense could not hold a 1-0 lead with less than ten minutes to go.

Every time Nigeria loses, you people find a way to force Iwobi into the conversation because the blame card is never complete if his name is not on it.

Una go dey go round and round like this, until you find your actual problem, and it is not Iwobi

When we get a better midfielder that renders iwobi a persona non grata, you guys will see how that man's mediocrity has denied us of a functioning midfield and you'll know that he was average in his best days

Both him and Ndidi

You started well but lost me at 1 and especially 2. Which one is that he should select the list? In what capacity? This is not monkey post choosing.

You cannot have a disciplined team by making one player a star boy. You destroy the teamwork.

Osimhen clearly has discipline issues and you want to make it worse.
CR7, Messi I somewhat believe are involved in certain team decisions for their country

Mbappe is not because their country is star studded

It seems like foreign coaches don’t know the super eagles job properly
Or Chelle doesn’t fully know his players
Why would Chelle make just two changes
Our midfield & defense lost the game because they were tired and lost concentration
Osimhen was walking and was tired at some point I was expecting Chelle to bring in fresh legs to run & reduce the pressure

Onyemaechi could even play in this game ?
Aina & Onyemaechi are better than Bright
No changes
Omo
I don’t think we can qualify or get the playoffs ticket tbh

Papa Daniel’s wey be home based & is totally use to Nigerias weather no even see 1 minute play

If we fail (and we most likely will) to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, it won't be hard to predict exactly what's going to happen in the future.

We'll most likely go ahead and employ another Grade C foreign coach who's going to be successful in qualifying us for the 2030 World Cup.

After we get knocked out in the Round of 16, we're going to tell him that we don't need him anymore and also tell him that the only reason he was able to qualify us for the World Cup was because of the plethora of "star players" that we have 😂. We won't that he saved us from our inability to qualify for two back-to-back World Cup editions. We won't that he qualified us with relative ease. It'll be a repeat of the Gernot Rohr situation but with more emphasis on World Cup qualification/performance.

After sacking the new Grade C foreign coach whilst still owing him a lot of money, we'll go on another unsuccessful spree of employing mediocre local coaches who do nothing impressive to improve themselves apart from waiting for the National Team job to fall on their laps.

This cycle will keep repeating itself. The fact is we don't deserve any better. We deserve exactly what we're going through right now. We are not ready for progress. You can disagree with me all you want but it's not gonna change anything (Zilch, Nada).

THE TRUTH IS INDEED BITTER, and we're in this position because some people (especially those in the media and NFF) have refused to embrace it for what it is.

Una still dey speak "Turenchi" and big grammar, apart from Osimhen and Lookman, fact is none of these players are good enough...the majority of them are either washed/criminally inconsistent (Ekong, Simon Moses, Aribo, Ndidi, Chukwueze) or just club drifters at best- the players that give their all for club but chicken out for country when it matters.

As it stands now, we should just go for broke in our last remaining games by playing all our fringe players like Orban, Akpom, Uche, Ojediran, Akor Adams, Anjorin, Ejuke, Torunarigha etc, at least these fringe ones will have way more to play for if they deserve to replace some of this present crop of players. Osimhen shouldn't even bother honoring all call-up at this point- dude is 26 and the next time he might have another shot at a world cup will be 2030, and by then the smaller African teams will be getting better since many of them will have a taste of the world cup for the first time in their history with this expanded format.

If Nigeria doesn't get it acts together fast by sacking redundant and mediocre s like Eguavoen who is just there occupying space with no input, then we will be recycling mediocrity while other smaller nations overtake us in football.

My final thoughts- The coach and NFF should get rid of 60% of these present players and try our fringe players.

Okocha threw shades at NFF
Randy Waldrum also said in 2023 that we won’t qualify with the way we run our football
Chelle could’ve easily won the match, he failed to read the game properly in the second half
Fatigue: Ndidi, Osay Samuel & Ekong messed up. Boniface that was fresh from the bench could’ve been running like a mad man to help the defense was just jugging like what I don’t know
Don’t know why they couldn’t call for help or get the ball to thrown in.
I swear many players are not good enough to be in the super eagles
Paddy paddy NFF and corruption
I’d prefer to start a Bruno than Osayi to be honest
So papa Daniel’s no even see ball play lol

Thank you oooo. People will just criticize but offer no alternatives.

If we remove Iwobi who should we put? Was it not Iwobi that made the cross that Tolu nodded and the Zim keeper saved?

The game was won. All we needed to do was see out the result, finish. Track the runner and defend properly.

I even doubt we will qualify for 2030 world cup sef...while other African teams including the minnows and dark horses are getting better in football, we seem to be stagnating...we don't have a good youth system anymore, at least back in the days we used to churn out several talents from our U17-U23 teams, now we are so bad at the youth level that we haven't been to am Olympic tournament in how many years now? Where will the next Osimhen, Mikel Obi, Chinedu Obasi etc come from?

It's not looking good for us my guy, maybe our women will make us happy a bit, but you see this Super Eagles under this NFF? forget it...it's not getting to get any better. I see the likes of Osimhen, Iwobi, Lookman etc actually taking a long break from international football or retiring to focus on their clubs at this point.

It's really painful. The problem is that Nigerians don't learn from history. If we manage to bounce back from this, we're going to find ourselves in this situation all over again, no thanks to the useless s handling our football. Ex players and some unintelligent fans aren't left out either. These people don't know shiiiit about football istration yet they're always the loudest.

At this point, I'm not sure we'll ever get our football to the heights we want it to be.

Osimhen's fire and fiery ion has been there since his U17 days. He is the lad with the biggest winning Mentality in the team. The one who will run 90mins+ non-stop. The only other player on this team who can run 90mins+ non stop like Victor is Frank Onyeka who wasn't invited.

Victor is the perfect archetype of the warrior you take into your biggest battles.

I feel most sad because unless some miracle occur, we won't see Africa's best and most dreaded Number 9 at the World Cup.

10 slots should not be this hard in all honesty. But it is what it is due to stupid decisions we made as a football nation.

I know all these players and they exciting prospects, but what's the point of having all of them when there isn't a solid transition program that will integrate all these young players into the SE? like how long do we have to wait before taking a chance at the younger generation? We've been on the Ndidi, Iwobi, Ekong etc train for how many years with no discernable signs of a better trajectory for us with these players under different coaches, so why not try new tricks at this point? Why are we so afraid of taking chances in Nigeria rather than playing it "safe" all the time...

There’s a science and philosophy to our football and that’s what a player like osihmen represents, I watch his goal today and I wonder how many of the other players can take such a risk with that dive. We keep complaining about his behaviour and attitude but the ones we think has better attitude what are they really offering us Abi na like this who go Dey Dey! Before that goal it was as if he wasn’t in the game but sheer resilience and inner strength still came out from him, is that too much to ask from the other players? gosh!
